Position: Cost Estimator

Reporting To: Cost Esurance & Cost Control Leader

Division: Maintenance


Educational Level: University or higher

Work Experience:

  • At least 5 years of experience in cost estimation/cost forecast


  • Technical and financial background related oil and gas industry
  • Certification as a cost professional (CCP) or as an estimating professional (CEP)


  • Minimum TOEIC - 750 or Equivalent
  • Communicate well in English with coworkers, supervisors, and other external partners in both speaking and writing; can handle effectively fairly complex business situations in English.
  • Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and Outlook; SAP; Maximo.
  • Strong skill in analysis and estimation/cost forecast
  • Strong decision-making skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively


  • Cost Estimator is to assist Cost Esurance & Cost Control Leader to prepare, maintain, track the estimation maintenance cost of Maintenance Division and ensure its compliance with the Company budgeting process. Manages and safeguards documents generated by the Division, Contractors and suppliers to support the day-to-day operation


  • Manage the maintenance estimation cost including analyzing estimating cost gaps between Originator requested and corrected estimation. Recommend for improvements in the cost estimation process.
  • Review proposed estimation cost submissions, consolidate into a complete estimation for Managers’ approval.
  • Identify factors affecting costs, such as maintenance duration time, materials, service, and labor
  • Maintain records of estimated and actual costs, recommend ways to reduce costs
  • Consult with maintenance engineers, engineering engineer, contractors, and subcontractors to changes and adjustments cost estimates.
  • Effectively communicate the approved cost estimation to concerned parties.
  • Review, update and propose enhancements to the maintenance cost model.
  • Coordinate with budget controller for preparation of budget and financial forecasts and report variances
  • Develop workflow/procedures, technical documents in order to prepare maintenance cost estimation
  • Perform maintenance cost estimation data entry, data search, extraction, retrieval or modification through Company’s E-documents Management systems (The CMMS, CDMS, EDMS, Company’s portal, etc.)
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by Division Managers and/or other superiors.

Accountability, Duty

  • Archive does not exceed 15% of different estimation cost compared with final contract for every purchasing package.
  • Monitor and submit report does not delay 2 days of deadline.
