POSITION SUMMARY

The Performance Supervisor is responsible for monitoring performance of all plant systems and equipment.  In addition, the Performance Engineer will provide technical advice for all power and desalination plant mechanical, electrical and instrumentation systems and devices to improve plant performance.

Primary responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to the following:

• Provide technical advice to operation and maintenance staff regarding plant equipment operations.
• Trend and provide engineering recommendations for restoration and enhancement of plant performance to and safely beyond original design level.
• Model and analyze performance of boiler, steam turbine, condenser and other major equipment using common modeling software such as Gate Cycle.
• Perform heat and mass balance modeling.
• Perform tests on components and equipment to verify design capacity.
• Monitor equipment and overall plant performance during operation and compare to theoretical and design conditions.
• Advise management on recommended actions to improve performance.
• Provide performance training to plant staff.
• Participate in the plant’s safety and environmental compliance programs.
• Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in similar capacity for a coal power station. Two years supervisory experience preferred.
• Competent in Gate Cycle or Thermaflow or similar.
• Good communication skills in the English language (written and verbal)
