1. Job Description
- Chief Data Officer is responsible for driving the Data Department vision, strategy, and execution
- Provide the Data department with vision for business-wide data activities and champions for data ownership, standardization, accessibility, and governance
- Manage the lifecycle of data and information to comply with the bank’s requirements and determines how best to leverage data assets that support the bank’s strategy
- Chief Data Officer is leader in creating and sustaining vibrant data organization, technologies, processes, and policies within the department and across the bank
- Own, further develop, and maintain the Data Governance Framework, with focus on Data Quality, Data Privacy/Legal Compliance, and Data Security
- Play a key role in projects leading to the initial creation of enterprise master data.
- Defines and oversees the strategic data priorities of the bank/group and identifies new capabilities based on existent data.
- Direct and ensure the Data Governance Program facilitation with cross functional stakeholders at various levels.
- Provide oversight and guidance of metadata management, enterprise glossaries, data quality management, data security & privacy and data management.
- Set objectives, facilitate the definition of Data Governance metrics, and ensure Data Governance performance is reported appropriately for different levels of stakeholders.
- Provide expertise and consults on all major data-related initiatives inclusive of personnel recruiting, development, and retention within the business.
- Implement governance in technology and drive the use of technology to continuously improve operational efficiency of governance processes.
- Provide guidance and direction to the team conducting design, implementation, and operations of the Master Data Management solutions.
- Provide guidance and direction to Data Engineers, Data Analysts, and Software Engineers to develop efficient, flexible data models across source systems, operational data stores, and analytics data stores.
- Create and sustain vibrant data organization, technologies, processes, and policies within the department and across the bank
2. Job Requirements
- Master Degree in data and analytics, engineering, Accounting, Finance or other similar specialization are preferred.
- Formal training in Agile development methods a plus.
- 15+ years of data-related roles with a combination of hands-on and leadership roles in Data Governance, Master Data Management, Enterprise Architecture and related projects such as, Data Warehousing, Enterprise Reporting Solutions.
- 5+ years of experience in Data & Analytics Project/Program Management support.
- A strong track record of defining and implementing data strategies for multiple organizations and or businesses is desired.
- 3+ years of experience working in an agile environment is desired.
- Knowledge of enterprise risk management solutions, master data management technologies and/or data governance platforms
- Knowledge of industry leading data quality, data profiling, and master data management practices and tools
- Strong communication skills (written, presentation, and verbal), excellent collaboration and negotiation skills
- Organizational agility to work across complex and disparate teams and drive cross-functional projects to achieve clear objectives and business results in complex work environments.
- Strong knowledge of program, process, and change management techniques; structured approaches to problem solving, decision making, and business strategy
- Ability to break down complex problems and projects into concrete deliverables with orientation to quantifying results with metrics and holding teams accountable for delivery.
