The role

Due to the rapid developments in electrification and automation within the maritime industry, we are looking for expansion within the team. Some of the developments we are working on are autonomous sailing, smart and predictive maintenance, hybrid-electrical propulsion systems, etc.

As an Electrical Commissioning Engineer, you are working on a wide variety of tasks. During the project's execution, you will work in a team to deliver the requested engineering documents. You implement deep technical and practical knowledge into solid and innovative designs.

The group Electrical Commissioning engineer works in Commissioning and Sea trial department, which consists of approx. 07 Electrical engineers. The employees are assigned to projects, where they contribute with their expertise to product definition and delivery of product information.

Key Accountabilities

As an Electrical Commissioning Engineer your tasks are the following:
 
  • Setting up, operating installations and finishing testing programs following HAT/SAT protocols for electrical systems
  • Checking, supporting and coordinating the activity of OEM suppliers during commissioning phase;
  • Reporting test data in HAT/ SAT documents as well as for improvement points/ standardization;
  • In pre-commissioning phase, doing pre checks for cable installations and completeness of connections to support efficient commissioning of systems;
  • Checking electrical drawings and signaling issues. Providing improvement proposals to the Engineering department;
  • Participating in sea trials phase, during Damen Shipyard supply trips of ships to their client destination, solving issues that may arise.
     
Skills & Experience

To be successful in this role you bring:
 
  • Bachelor’s degree Electrical/ Automation Engineering or another relevant technical study;
  • About 2-to-5-year experience in the design and installation of complex systems;
  • Experience in the functional development of Electrification and/or Control & Monitoring systems;
  • You master excellent communication skills in English is a plus.
