Company Profile: Our client, a company specializing in furniture representative is hiring a potential candidate for the for Business Development Manager position.

Job Description

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for identifying and developing business opportunities in the field of wooden products manufacturing in Vietnam territory. 

The role involves: 

  • Collaborating with the line manager and technical experts in wooden products.  
  • Identifying and pursuing leads to assess and target furniture industry manufacturers and other potential users in Vietnam 
  • Coordinating product trials, fostering relationships, offering business support to manufacturers, architects, developers, and builders. 
  • Facilitating product performance testing and demonstration trials. 
  • Spearheading efforts to establish and expand a local network. 
  • Coordinating with marketing team to hold training workshops, networking events, tradeshows  
  • Organize visiting trade delegations on customer visits.  
  • Being key contributors involved in activities related to marketing, promotions, and coordinating wood product trials.

  • Position Purpose 
  • Primarily focus on establishing contacts and evaluating potential users.  
  • Conducts product trials with potential users to connect successful client with suppliers either in Vietnam or directly from source, and follows up after successful trials during the quotation process between clients and suppliers, aiming to cultivate strong business relationships.  
  • This role, along with the business development team, plays a crucial part in educating the target audiences in Vietnam about products. 

Key Responsibilities 

Market Analysis 

  • Conduct market analysis and create strategic plan of business development 
  • Stay updated on market movements.  
  • Provide regular updates to headquarters regarding markets and propose strategic insights. 
  • Maintain and update customer data on system and support planning. 
  • Monitor and record price information 
  • Communicate challenges and collaborate with internal and external technical experts to address these challenges. 
  • Cultivate strong relationships with potential customers and existing customers. 
  • Create case studies and summaries detailing the outcomes of product trial, delivery effectively to internal stakeholders. 

Business Development 

  • Source, develop and maintain a comprehensive portfolio of prospective clients in different sectors; develop short-term and long-term rolling plans to actively approach and pursue prospective potential clients from portfolio. 
  • Maintain relationships with current clients and ensure customer satisfaction. 
  • Determine opportunities to introduce products and pursue product trials.  
  • Design and consult product trials. 
  • Monitor product trial execution, evaluate and provide technical support during the trial process. 
  • Introduce manufacturers to suppliers for quotation process, proactively support both parties in developing their business relationship. 
  • Ensure safety stock in the assigned market.  
  • Provide technical advice/support in the development of marketing materials. 
  • Identify alliances and indirect stakeholders to increase product’s presence and to expand customer. 
  • Identify demonstration project opportunities through various stakeholders and recommend the donation of product or support for trial.  
  • Assist in special projects initiated by the Country Director or Head Office. 

Training and Engagement 

  • Coordinate and conduct informative seminars focusing on product attributes. 
  • Suggest and introduce new and relevant seminar topics and training sessions based on feedback and areas of interest from industry stakeholders. 
  • Create training materials and presentations for seminars and workshops. 
  • Offer technical guidance, proactive assistance, and support to relevant stakeholders. 
  • Nurture relationships with current customers to arrange factory visits. 
  •  Facilitate the invitation and participation of customers in seminars.
  • Stock Management 
  • Track inventory levels and the assortment of wood species and specifications, notifying when stocks are running low to facilitate replenishment orders and ensure an adequate supply for product trials and demonstrations. 
  • Make suggestions regarding the appropriate inventory levels for each product, and report market changes to the Country Director for timely adjustments and inventory changes based on market demands. 
  • Participate in inventory counts according to scheduled intervals. 
  • Work with the team to create strategies for utilizing slow-moving inventory. 
  • Coordinate and support the Country Director in implementing various tasks to support the daily operation of the company.

Education & Experience:  

  • Preferred qualifications include a postgraduate degree, ideally with a focus on commerce, international trade, sales, marketing, business administration, wood processing, or related fields. 
  • At least 7 ~ 10 years of relevant experience in a similar role. 
  • Prior business development experience in the furniture industry is essential. 
  • Experience with an international organization would be a plus.  
  • Familiarity and proficiency in working with a CRM System would also be advantageous.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in Taiwanese Mandarin and English at business proficiency level; 
  • Demonstrated excellence in business communication and presentation skills. 
  •  Adept at maintaining strong customer service orientation and fostering client relations. 
  • Capable of strategic thinking and execution of effective business development strategies. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiarity with the CRM System 
  • Exceptional organizational, problem-solving, and prioritization abilities to manage multiple goals and projects efficiently.

  •  Skilled in negotiation and persuasion techniques.
