POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for the effective management of Coal Handling System operations and ensures safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the system and continuous supply of coal to the boiler. Develops and manages department budget according to Operation Director’s instructions. Assist in other areas of the plant as assigned.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties and responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to the following:
• Promote and enforce safe, environmentally friendly and workmanlike operation practices within the section and with area contractors.
• Supervises the operation of Coal Handling System during unloading, reclaiming, sampling and blending operations.
• Ensure consistent improvement of coal plant operations, guaranteeing continuous improvement of plant reliability, efficiency and availability. Develop and manage Coal Operations planning and budgeting, assuming co-responsibility for approved operations plan and budget.
• Organizes a manpower development program, strategies on coal yard utilization, plant operating guidelines, coal movement and coal spacing.
• Develops strategies on environmental considerations including but not limited to; spontaneous combustion, compacting of coal, unloading and reclaiming operation considering weather conditions.
• Promote team development and training. Develop required procedures to ensure the established operations strategy is known and implemented.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
• Mechanical Bachelor Engineering Degree required; Masters Degree desired. Management specialization valued.
• Minimum 10 year experience in industrial operation supervision and management or equivalent industrial environment role, 2 of which must be on a management role and material handling environment.
• Available to work overtime and/or weekends if required.
