SCOPE OF WORK
1. Cost Management
Define cost level drivers index for some commodities and market research process to identify cost review opportunities across account/regions.
Run total cost analysis including the ex-factory cost, logistic and business model impact caused by different supply base and working model choices.
Propose and implement cost saving strategy for cost down opportunities.
Review with BDM to understand customer needs and provide proposal to optimize design/material for better performance/cost.
Handle strategic RFQ (Request for Quotation) and negotiate with suppliers to obtain the most effective cost according to the should cost model if available. Run cost level analysis and negotiate for consistent and competitive purchasing price based on should cost model and industry competition status. Identify potential price gap for each account and address the gap
2. Supplier Development, Sourcing and Commodity management
Explore major suppliers in the region to identify capable suppliers for current and future project needs.
Explore competitor’s capability for responsible accounts and provide price /design suggestion for sales team to win business.
Coach/develop suppliers to improve quality and process and challenge industry limitation through DOE, equipment upgrade, process optimization.
Develop suppliers to improve technical capability in new regions/countries to drive competitive cost and better yield rate.
Manage the supply base capacity analysis for certain accounts and planning working with supply chain team to meet dynamic demand fluctuation.
Explore, assess and qualify new suppliers to meet business demands increase and business location expansion across regions/countries.
Implement supply base performance evaluation to support the need of different cost/quality/delivery expectation.
3. New Product Launch and Process Standardization/improvement
Coordinate DFM (design for manufacturing) reviews with the supply base and ensure all the customer requirements are fully understood. Provide alternative solutions to address DFM issues either providing design change proposal or improving process to challenge suppliers’ limitation.
Run DOE to define process control plan for new commodity and specify key process control parameters. Develop tools/jigs/method to address potential mass production issues. Standardize the process control system.
Define packing SOP of products for shipping.
Ensure the supply base tooling, sampling, mass production schedule and execution on time.
Manage the qualification of supply base and new product, identify process control plan and manage pilot run, fitting check, complete related report in time with good quality.
4. New Material Sourcing/development.
Involved in new material, new equipment, new technology development, process /efficiency/ yield improvement to identify and obtain cost optimization and better environmental story at account level.
Manage new material/products development from lab stage to mass production stage, define key product process, key process parameter, quality control parameter.
Quality and Technical Problem Solving
Handle technical problem solving and qualification of new product.
Co-work with quality team to define quality control plan, cosmetic criteria, ensure all major quality issues are improved with effective actions implementation.
Handle engineering issue caused quality issue, analyze root cause, take corrective actions and document actions plan.
5. Teamwork
Manage stakeholders’ expectations, especially the communication with US sales team to set project winning strategy.
Cross team communication to meet company goals.
6. Legal contract negotiation and management
Contact negotiation with partners to ensure Company or project need are protected and reflected in contract.
Assess and manage the potential legal risk of quality and procurement contract.
Initiate and implement penalty actions when there is violation to contract while keeping business continuity.
7. Supply base business model development
Collect available business model information in new regions, discuss with suppliers to explore possible options with supply chain team.
Involved in business model setup for new region with supply chain team to define currency flow, shipping flow and custom flow; quote with business model for new projects with associated cost & process defined.
Analyse different business incoterms and tax, calculate loading q’ty of shipping and shipping cost to achieve best total procurement cost.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor degree holders (Preferably engineering or science major) or Equivalent with a mature and independent personality
Strong Statistical Process Controls and Quality Skills
Good data analysis and documentation skills
Strong Design of Experiment Skills
Strong technical and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication skills- verbal & Written.
Familiar with global trade and incoterms
Fluent with both English and Chinese as working language
