Senior Engineer, TPM – Process
Location: Northern Vietnam
RESPONSIBILITIES
● Drive in-process/process to ensure effective closure of all issues to enable operational success of the entire NPI cycle and into the mass production phase.
● Hands on to validate to solve technical & quality issues in support of new product introduction (NPI) as well as sustaining operations and ensuring the contract manufacturer readiness for mass production.
● Process development, documentation, production ramp up plan, capacity calculation, optimization and validation plan.
● Drive and work together with vendor engineers for all technical issues (design & operation) related to smart-watch production and assembly.
● Develop and implement process improvement & optimization to enhance production quality, capacity and efficiency
● Manages to provide immediate direction, guidance and resources to other engineering groups and project leaders as well as factory technicians
● Oversees and driving a variety of projects and participates in the project planning of major sub-projects
● Performs assignments in several of the following manufacturing engineering functions:
○ Design for Assembly - Provide early and ongoing manufacturing involvement to ensure
assembly process robustness of new products.
○ Failure/Data Analysis - Plans, develops and implements technically complex procedures for the testing and evaluation of soon to be released products. Specifies tests to be performed, compiles data and makes recommendations for product design changes and final assembly standards. This will include the use of Design of Experiments (DOE) and statistical analysis to generate conclusive directions.
○ Product Engineering - Works all phases of a product from concept to repeat manufacturing to end of life. Provides production support engineering with respect to technically complex testing methods, procedures and failure analysis.
REQUIREMENTS
Must have
● Degree holder in Mechanical / Manufacturing or related fields
● 3-5 years' experience in engineering and manufacturing
● Solid experience on FATP process/manufacturing qualification.
● Proven bottom line project management experience. (Planning, Cost, & Delivery).
● Solid working knowledge of DFA & DFx and Technical Drawing approval.
● Understand and tolerance stack ups for assemblies and part level.
● Excellent project management skills, experience working in a matrix organization.
● Experience working with International OEM partners.
● Strong communication & negotiation skills in English
● Ability to communicate effectively in a worldwide environment.
Nice to have
● Direct experience managing any of the following functional engineering teams a plus (ME, EE, TE, DFX, Etc).
● New product introduction and Manufacturing Operations experience desired.
● Strong knowledge of GD&T principles a plus
● Competency in MS Office applications, Solidworks & Six Sigma experience as a plus
● Proven track record of cost reduction, project management and engineering design required.
