JOB SUMMARY
The Internal Auditor reports directly to the Chief Risk Officer (CRO) and plays a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity, reliability, and regulatory compliance of financial and operational processes within our organization. This position involves collaborating with external partners for internal audit projects, as well as conducting operational compliance and assurance reviews to ensure alignment with best practices and regulatory guidelines.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Facilitate Internal Audit Projects with External Partners (40%):
    • Collaborate with external audit firms (PwC/KPMG, etc.) to plan and execute internal audit projects. 
    • Coordinate audit schedules, define audit objectives and audit scope, allocate resources effectively, and maintain seamless communication between internal stakeholders and external auditors.
    • Assist in developing comprehensive annual audit plans, conduct risk assessments, and create audit programs that cover critical areas.
    • Manage and oversee the annual internal audit plan as assigned by the CRO.
    • Provide essential documentation, data, and support to external auditors throughout the audit process.
    • Review audit findings, recommendations, and reports provided by external auditors, facilitating constructive discussions with management to address identified issues.
    • Follow up with management on implementing remedial actions recommended by external auditors.
    • Perform any other duties as assigned.
  2. Operational Compliance/Assurance Review (60%):
    • Conduct thorough operational compliance reviews to assess adherence to regulatory requirements, internal policies, internal control systems, and industry standards.
    • Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls, business processes, risk management procedures, and governance frameworks related to asset management activities.
    • Perform assurance reviews on the key operational processes across the organization, ensuring alignment with best practices and regulatory guidelines.
    • Identify control weaknesses, process inefficiencies, and areas of non-compliance with regulations and internal policies, and recommend remedial actions to mitigate risks and enhance operational efficiency.
    • Work closely with the Enterprise Risk Manager to develop/update and monitor the Risk Profile, Risk Heat Map, Top Risk, Key Risk Indicator (KRI), Top KRI Trend, Operational Issue/Incident Log, Risk Dashboard for each department/function.
    • Coordinate and conduct ad-hoc reviews requested by management or the Board on specific functions or activities determined to be high risk area. Document such operations, identify key controls, and evaluate the adequacy of the internal controls system to achieve the established objectives.
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Auditing or Accounting Professional certification such as CPA or ACCA.
  • Relevant professional certifications/licenses in the asset management business, such as Vietnamese securities practising licenses, certificates on securities, securities market and law on securities, CFA (level II), CIIA (final level).
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in internal audit, external audit within the asset management industry.
  • Strong knowledge of audit principles, practices, and standards, including experience in facilitating audit engagements with external partners.
  • Knowledge of local regulatory requirements in Asset Management.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to assess complex processes, identify control deficiencies, and propose practical solutions.
  • Experienced risk assessment to identify and evaluate potential risks in operations.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with internal stakeholders, external auditors, and regulatory authorities.
  • Proven ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic and challenging environment.
  • Effective time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
