JOB SUMMARY
Independently develops and drives multi-year cross functional supply chain strategies complex commodities.  Independently handles important and moderately sized negotiations.  Minimize material cost impact for key commodities by containing material costs through supply base management processes and strategies working with suppliers and the company, using set of procurement tools.  Develops and executes strategy for key commodities. Facilitate top level cross-functional planning and project execution to drive optimized sourcing strategies.


Responsibilities:
  • Development of supply base / commodity strategies consistent with business initiatives.  Analysis of suppliers and their industries, identification of preferred suppliers, and Supply base rationalization and consolidation
  • Drive total cost reductions/containment without sacrifice to quality and performance.  Plan, develop, and execute e-Sourcing events relevant to the opportunities that are present in the set of commodities.
  • Negotiation of pricing and contracts (MPA or PA).  Ensure key contractual price reductions are realized and contract coverage with our key suppliers.. 
  • Coordinate component selection reviews to optimize supply chain in terms of cost, lead time, payment term, life cycle and availability. Drive dual sourcing activity in order to mitigate supply chain risk .
  • Assists in the resolution of purchased material shortages as needed and propose emergency plan.
  • Develop and utilize customized list of Preferred Suppliers to support requirements including Suppliers from the Vertiv Preferred Supplier List (PSL) for managed commodities and preferred suppliers for division managed commodities
  • Actively participating, from program conception, in New Product Development and Cost Reduction programs. Primary responsibility is to ensure that supply base trends, knowledge and expertise, are utilized to optimize program cycle times and product material costs. Establish best practices in Supply Chain prior to Production to achieve product launch and ramp-up schedules.  Drive supplier tooling, process qualifications, and capacity plans. 
  • Lead periodically Supplier Business Review (SBR) to improve the speed and flexibility, cost and quality of the supply chain to align with internal and external customer expectations on continuously improvement and risk mitigation activities.
  • Partnering with incumbent Suppliers to develop and expand new technologies within products to achieve sustainable competitive advantage by; improving current quality levels, i.e., product reliability analysis; Technology development; Raw material sourcing (pass through pricing); Cost, i.e. lean manufacturing.
  • Proactively manages data within the Procurement toolset, including but not exclusive to utilizing tools to identify opportunities to leverage supplier or component spend across and/or company divisions for e-Sourcing events.


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
 
  • A Bachelor degree in Supply Chain Management or related degree. 
  • At least 10 years Supply Chain Management or directly related professional experience in mechanical and electronic industry.   A relevant Master’s degree may be held as equivalent for three years of professional experience.
  • Must be able to understand and interpret blueprints and technical data, review new techniques and material, assess its usefulness and applicability and communicate this information to internal customers.
  • Experienced in creation, negotiation, and administration of contracts.
  • Strong facilitation, teamwork, project management and communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills and database experience
  • Technical training, and APICS and/or ISM certification preferred.
  • Must be fluent in Mandarin and English written and orally
  • Estimated 25% travel to requiring both domestic and international travel, not exclusively including suppliers, or corporate locations in order to develop and maintain strong relationship.
