Deputy Maintenance Manager/Sr. Maintenance Engineer

Responsibilities:
Maintenance Philosophies and Strategies:
  • Review KVPS maintenance, inspections and outage strategies based on plant O&M Manuals;
  • Coordinate with KVPS (O&M company) to identify and plan maintenance activities to cost-effectively maintain the long-term integrity of the plant, while providing short-term plant availability to meet business needs for a coal fired power plant (super critical once through boiler).
Contract Management:
  • Review and understand the terms and conditions of the O&M contract and PPA;
  • Monitor and enforce adherence to contractual obligations by KVPS.
Communication and Coordination:
  • Lead the Maintenance team to achieve the O&M team goals
  • Act as the primary point of contact between VPCL and KVPS regarding maintenance activities;
  • Schedule regular meetings to discuss ongoing and upcoming maintenance activities;
  • Work with the technical team to foster open communication and collaboration to address concerns and resolve issues promptly.
Maintenance Planning and Scheduling:
  • Work with KVPS to develop and optimize maintenance schedules;
  • Ensure that maintenance activities align with the plant's operational goals and priorities.
Performance Monitoring:
  • Establish Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for maintenance activities;
  • Monitor to ensure the preventive maintenance and predictive maintenance systems align with CMMS master data;
  • Coordinate with KVPS to set-up the Reliability-Centered Maintenance system (RCM)
  • Collaborate with KVPS for Scheduled outage preparation activities, implementation and lesson learnt;
  • Monitor and analyze performance metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Plant Modification Works (PMW)
  • Review, plan and execute plant modification proposals
Quality Assurance:
  • Implement quality control measures to ensure that maintenance work meets established standards;
  • Conduct periodic audits to verify compliance with quality requirements.
Documentation and Reporting:
  • Ensure comprehensive documentation of all maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment history, and lessons learned;
  • Use documentation to improve future maintenance planning and execution;
  • Issue a monthly report (CMMS indicators, spare parts used, …)
Continuous Improvement:
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains;
  • Collaborate with KVPS to implement continuous improvement initiatives.
Budget Oversight:
  • Review the maintenance budget and long-term maintenance plan submitted by KVPS;
  • Monitor maintenance-related expenses and ensure adherence to O&M annual plan
  • Collaborate with Commercial team to address any financial discrepancies.
Spare Parts Management:
  • Co-ordinate with OMF members and KVPS Maintenance Teams and Warehouse to establish an optimum spare parts regime that balances the cost and availability of the spares against the potential plant losses due to their non-availability;
Requirements:
  • A bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably in Mechanical, Electrical, or a related field, is often required. Advanced degrees can be advantageous;
  • In-depth understanding of coal-fired power plant systems, equipment, and processes;
  • Familiarity with relevant codes, standards, and regulations related to power plant maintenance;
  • Proven experience in maintenance management, including planning, scheduling, and execution of maintenance activities;
  • Knowledge of preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance strategies;
  • Knowledge of legal, commercial and practical aspects of procurement, installation and commissioning of equipment;
  • With more than 10 years of experience in a maintenance leadership role within the power generation industry, preferably in a coal-fired plant;
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a maintenance team effectively;
  • CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System): Proficiency in utilizing CMMS for maintenance planning, scheduling, and tracking;
  • Microsoft Office: Competency in using software such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint for reporting and documentation;
  • Relevant certifications in maintenance management, reliability, or specific equipment certifications can be advantageous;
  • Adequate knowledge and understanding of the administration system and working procedures government agencies;
  • Social skills and personalities: Honest, friendly, highly adaptable, resilient and flexible. Team Work. Proactive. Confidence;
