POSITION SUMMARY
• Monitoring the Company’s environmental performance against internal and external compliance targets.
• Carrying out environmental audits and assessments.
• Developing, implementing and driving environmental strategies and policies.
• Communicating with key stakeholders regarding environmental performance.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties and responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to the following:
• Report on environmental audits and make recommendations for future policies and strategy.
• Drive the environmental strategy forward to ensure corporate sustainable development.
• Build awareness of environmental legislation and identify and lead to the prevention of any potential contravention of regulation and consent compliance.
• Keep up-to-date with the latest environmental legislation with Vietnam and international regulation and legislation.
• Implement strategy to ensure compliance is prioritized and championed at all levels within the Company.
• Promote awareness of the impact of environmental decisions across the Company.
• Report the Company’s environmental performance to key stakeholders both within and outside the Company including to regulatory bodies.
• Oversee the Company’s management and policy adherence in relation to pollution control, environmental health, carbon foot-printing,GHG emission, biodiversity, responsible procurement, waste management and recycling.
• Manage service agreements and contractors working with the Company on environmental compliance projects.
• Build relationships with external environmental service providers.
• Represent the Company in public hearings and consultations in relation to environmental matters.
• Lead environmental investigations for significant incidents.
• Prepare environmental permits, license and relevant legal documents when necessary.
• Manage the environmental management system, certification and adherence to the ISO 14000 family of standards.
• Other tasks requested from HSSE manager
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
• A University graduate with major in Environmental or Chemistry.
• At least 5-year current experience within an oil/gas or thermoelectric facility and have a thorough demonstrated working knowledge of environment aspects including: IFC standard, Equator Principle, ESHIA, EIA, Local Laws and Regulations, incident investigation, document management, environmental monitoring, working with local authorities.
• Possess advanced level communications skills in English (written and verbal) and be computer literate. Able to communicate using advanced vocabularies.
