A quality manager is responsible for the generation of a strategic plan to improve the business processes and increase overall quality in either QA or QC. Duties may include creating the company's quality standards and testing systems to reflect efficiency, reliability and performance. Quality manager is also responsible for the creation of documentation that reports issues and errors relating to the production process with efforts placed to find a solution. The quality manager will be the liaison between the manufacturer and Westinghouse.
 
A bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field is required for the job. A successful track record working as a quality engineer is essential. Although consideration may be made for less experience providing experienced QE is found prior to hire that could mentor the lower skill levels.
 
Job Overview
Responsibilities for Quality Manager
  • Manage Asia quality team, distribute team tasks to quality team members and track  quarterly and annual KPI evaluation.
  • Follow up the weekly customer complaint and put forward production line quality problem analysis and rectification, verify the effectiveness of rectification measures taken by product suppliers
  • Ability to independently respond to customer complaints and quality related issues to the US
  • Manage and improve the Asia team quality system, establish and maintain process control documents
  • Responsible for quality improvement plan. Carry out special quality improvement activities for frequent quality problems complained by production lines and customers, and regularly review the improvement progress
  • Regularly analyze the quality problems of parts, production lines and products, use quality tools to comprehensively evaluate the production capacity of suppliers
  • Improve product quality by making recommendations for change
  • Ensure products adhere to company and industry quality standards
  • Brainstorm ideas to create solutions for identified problems
  • Document results and findings after inspections are carried out
  • Implement a working system to ensure conformity and accuracy in the production process
  • Provide weekly quality feedback to the Westinghouse management team

Qualifications for Quality Manager
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering/mechanical/automatic is preferred.
  • At least eight years experience in a quality assurance/control environment
  • High proficiency in computer technology and systems operations
  • Familiar with Six Sigma, APQP, PPAP, FMEA,  SPC, MSA, DOE, experience in TS16949 implementation is preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Have strategic vision and familiar with the establishment and maintenance of total quality management system, with rich experience in internal audit.
  • Excellent English or Chinese verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to work efficiently in a team environment
