We are seeking a skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team. The Engineer will oversee
the fabrication and the electro-mechanical assembly according to specifications to produce
high-quality products at our contract manufacturer.
Job Summary
The candidate must have high leadership skills, excel at data management, and adhere to best
practices in welding and fabrication. The candidate must also fully support and drive company
objectives, take initiative in all aspects of work, and promote these activities to the organisation
to ensure that the electro-mechanical contractor's manufacturing adheres to the specifications
and standards defined.
Qualifications
● A BS degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering with fabrication
experience, electro-mechanical manufacturing engineering with in-factory support
experience, or three years or more of experience in design engineering and working with
a US-based company.
● Proven Cross-functional team experience and the proven ability to lead in a production
manufacturing environment, especially in an electro-mechanical.
● Proven design experience and the proven ability to work in a cross-functional team
environment, especially with a US-based company.
● Must have industry experience in electro-mechanical design, layout, and assembly, as
well as creating BOM and ECO and dealing with fabrication technologies.
● Continuous improvement qualifications and experience in metal fabrication, production
process and final assembly.
● A professional credential demonstrating an individual's experince in the Six Sigma
methodology.
● Lean methodologies and practices are needed.
● Experience in large-scale and complex production environments.
● Proven record with failure analysis regarding fabrication, electro-mechanical assemblies,
plastics fit and production processes.
● Experience with (ASTM, JIS, GB) Welding Specifications, Standards, and Manufacturing
Practices.
● Experience with (ASTM, EN, ISO) Specifications, Standards, and Manufacturing Practices
● Experience with design engineering procedures in a mature NPI process.
● Experience with reading prints and the technical details of the weld instructions, assembly
process and procedures.
● Good communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
● Technical fluency in English skills, written and verbal.
● Mechanical Engineering: 7 years (Required)
● Contract Manufacturing Support Experince: 5 years (Required)
● Fabrication and Welding Experince: 2 years (Required)
Responsibilities
● The engineer will oversee the technical execution of the design engineering BOM
according to the selected contract manufacturer's required specifications to produce
high-quality products.
● Ensure design changes are reviewed, captured-recorded and reported to the engineering
team. If approved, adhere to and implement the ECO process.
● An in-depth knowledge of the product's technical specifications, form, fit and function.
● This role primarily serves as an electro-mechanical engineer for design and development,
fabrication, assembly and tooling support with the contract manufacturer.
● The role develops and evaluates manufacturing processes that meet or improve the
quality, throughput, velocity, and our standards.
● Developing plans and troubleshooting root cause analysis to ensure the design intent and
BOM are adhered to throughout the NPI and production process.
● Lead or contribute to welding, fabrication, fixturing and tooling development projects.
● Lead or contribute to industrial and manufacturing development projects.
● Collaborate on multi-disciplinary technical assistance teams to provide engineering
process solutions.
● Collaborate with the design engineering, AME and quality on projects and
problem-solving exercises.
● Stay current on new technologies in the art and design of injection moulding, die-casting,
welding, powder coating, and fabricating.
● Communicate welding, fabrication, tooling and general manufacturing process
improvements to the contractor manufacturer.
● Communicate technical information effectively with quality, design engineering, and AME
team members.
● Function as an individual contributor or project team leader.
