On September 13th 2018, within ManpowerGroup's engagement in 2018 World Economic Forum on ASEAN meeting in Ha Noi, our Country Manager of ManpowerGroup Vietnam, Thailand and Middle East - Simon Matthews joined as a lead session in "A New Kind of Learning". The workshop discussed the key priorities and actions for ASEAN to reform its educational system and successfully navigate the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
On his speech “Preparing future workforce through demand-driven education”, Simon stated that a skilled workforce is a key element for the adoption of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. It is therefore important to encourage and promote Learnability — the ability and desire to quickly grow and adapt one’s skillset to be employable for the long-term among both employers and adult workforce. Sector-specific upskilling and reskilling may be most efficiently provided through company coalitions in partnership with government and local educational institutions. Mr. Matthews also emphasized the importance of helping young people develop employability and learnability to prepare for the tomorrow’s world of work.
