Job Title: Asset Management Director

Job Summary

The Asset Management Director is responsible for overseeing the performance, operations, and financial management of a 100 MW solar farm in Vietnam. This role ensures the optimal performance of the solar asset while adhering to regulatory compliance, stakeholder requirements, and sustainable energy goals. The position involves a combination of strategic oversight, technical expertise, and financial acumen to maximize asset value and operational efficiency.


Key Responsibilities

Operational Management

  1. Monitor and optimize the operational performance of the solar farm to ensure maximum energy yield and efficiency.
  2. Develop and implement performance improvement strategies for plant operations and maintenance (O&M).
  3. Coordinate with O&M service providers to ensure adherence to service-level agreements (SLAs).
  4. Analyze performance data and implement corrective actions for underperforming components or systems.

Financial Management

  1. Develop and manage the asset budget, including OPEX and CAPEX forecasts.
  2. Monitor revenue streams, ensure timely invoicing, and manage accounts receivable/payable.
  3. Conduct financial analysis, prepare periodic financial reports, and present insights to stakeholders.
  4. Oversee compliance with financial obligations, including taxes, insurance, and loan covenants.

Compliance and Risk Management

  1. Ensure adherence to Vietnamese regulatory requirements, environmental standards, and industry best practices.
  2. Monitor and mitigate risks, including technical, operational, financial, and environmental risks.
  3. Maintain robust documentation for audits, inspections, and legal compliance.

Stakeholder and Contract Management

  1. Act as the primary liaison with investors, regulatory authorities, local communities, and other stakeholders.
  2. Oversee Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), O&M contracts, and other key agreements.
  3. Negotiate contract terms and resolve disputes with contractors or service providers.

Strategic Planning

  1. Identify opportunities for asset enhancement, such as system upgrades or expansion projects.
  2. Evaluate market conditions, regulatory changes, and technology trends to inform strategic decisions.
  3. Develop long-term strategies to ensure the asset’s profitability and sustainability.

Qualifications and Experience

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Renewable Energy, or related field), Finance, or Business Administration.
  • Master’s degree or MBA is a plus.

Experience

  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in renewable energy, asset management, or related fields.
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale solar projects, preferably in Vietnam or Southeast Asia.
  • Strong understanding of technical aspects of solar farms, financial modeling, and regulatory frameworks.

Skills and Competencies

  • Excellent project and contract management skills.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience with P&L management.
  • Proficiency in asset management software and tools.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills in both Vietnamese and English.
  • Familiarity with Vietnamese energy regulations and compliance standards.
