Job Title: Asset Management Director

Job Summary
The Asset Management Director is responsible for overseeing the performance, operations, and financial management of a 100 MW solar farm in Vietnam. This role ensures the optimal performance of the solar asset while adhering to regulatory compliance, stakeholder requirements, and sustainable energy goals. The position involves a combination of strategic oversight, technical expertise, and financial acumen to maximize asset value and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Management
- Monitor and optimize the operational performance of the solar farm to ensure maximum energy yield and efficiency.
- Develop and implement performance improvement strategies for plant operations and maintenance (O&M).
- Coordinate with O&M service providers to ensure adherence to service-level agreements (SLAs).
- Analyze performance data and implement corrective actions for underperforming components or systems.
Financial Management
- Develop and manage the asset budget, including OPEX and CAPEX forecasts.
- Monitor revenue streams, ensure timely invoicing, and manage accounts receivable/payable.
- Conduct financial analysis, prepare periodic financial reports, and present insights to stakeholders.
- Oversee compliance with financial obligations, including taxes, insurance, and loan covenants.
Compliance and Risk Management
- Ensure adherence to Vietnamese regulatory requirements, environmental standards, and industry best practices.
- Monitor and mitigate risks, including technical, operational, financial, and environmental risks.
- Maintain robust documentation for audits, inspections, and legal compliance.
Stakeholder and Contract Management
- Act as the primary liaison with investors, regulatory authorities, local communities, and other stakeholders.
- Oversee Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), O&M contracts, and other key agreements.
- Negotiate contract terms and resolve disputes with contractors or service providers.
Strategic Planning
- Identify opportunities for asset enhancement, such as system upgrades or expansion projects.
- Evaluate market conditions, regulatory changes, and technology trends to inform strategic decisions.
- Develop long-term strategies to ensure the asset’s profitability and sustainability.
Qualifications and Experience
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Renewable Energy, or related field), Finance, or Business Administration.
- Master’s degree or MBA is a plus.
Experience
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in renewable energy, asset management, or related fields.
- Proven track record of managing large-scale solar projects, preferably in Vietnam or Southeast Asia.
- Strong understanding of technical aspects of solar farms, financial modeling, and regulatory frameworks.
Skills and Competencies
- Excellent project and contract management skills.
- Strong financial acumen and experience with P&L management.
- Proficiency in asset management software and tools.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills in both Vietnamese and English.
- Familiarity with Vietnamese energy regulations and compliance standards.
