The Chief Technical Officer (CTO) will develop and deploy the company’s technical vision and strategy for a unique blockchain-enabled travel booking network. You are excited to make a real impact in the travel industry and create something that has never been done before. You understand the blockchain and cryptocurrency space and strongly believe in it’s potential to disrupt traditional Web 2.0 businesses including sharing economy’s. You will identify and evaluate appropriate systems, frameworks and technologies that drive network development. You will also collaborate with department heads as an advisor of all technologies involved with the network and lead teams of developers and eventually contributors set up frameworks that allow others to contribute to open-sourced technology. As an experienced CTO you will implement best practice from established frameworks but can also stay on top of the latest trends in Web 3.0 technology (blockchain, cryptocurrencies, digital identity, DAOs, and other decentralized tooling) and be able to adapt quickly. You have strong attention to details and never fail to make recommendations for improvements. You will also have experience communicating technology strategy to partners, team members, a community of users, as well as investors.

Responsibilities

● Deliver scalable system architectures and process improvement, operational excellence, and implementation of modern technology infrastructure

● Research any new technologies that may potentially increase our company's competitive advantage and communicate accordingly, particularly involving Web 3.0 and blockchain

● Develop and prepare the firm’s overall IT road-map

● Set strategy and lead teams to develop, support, enforce and integrate best practices and technology standards across the organization.

● Collaborate with the Chief Security Officer to protect sensitive digital information and reduce risk of technological breaches by building a security infrastructure in response to ongoing changes in the security landscape, including new risks, adherence to applicable regulations and disaster recovery

● Manage existing network infrastructure, software, security, and service providers and direct the implementation of new software

● Collaborate closely with other team leads

● Define company standards for systems, equipment, and software

● Evaluate overall operations and technology functions and recommend enhancements

● Identify opportunities and risks for delivering the company’s services through technology and innovation

● Ensure the company’s technological processes and services comply with all requirements, laws, and regulations

● Have a deep understanding of IT costs and financial implications of decisions and recommendations

● Responsibility and accountability for disaster recovery planning and execution

Requirement

● 10-15 years of experience in a technology leadership role, focused on building and leading global, innovative software development teams with startup exposure

● Some experience with blockchain and cryptocurrencies or a strong curiosity of these technologies

● Exceptional communication, leadership and influencing skills; ability to work independently in highly ambiguous environments, with both technical and business groups internally and externally

● Demonstrated ability to understand and discuss technical concepts, trade-offs, and opportunistic ideas with technical, non-technical, and executive team members

● Proven ability in running and scaling a team of developers and data professionals, attracting outstanding talent, and creating a culture of innovation and technical excellence

● Understanding and experience building highly scalable, highly available systems

● Experience building technology for secure environments that contain sensitive information (e.g., consumer profiles, financial information, regulatory filings, etc.).

● Proven success implementing new and emerging software development methodologies, while establishing and maintaining pragmatic engineering best practices

● Technical knowledge in scalable distributed systems; proven track record of implementing new systems and products
