Job Overview
The EHS Officer is responsible for ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and health and safety standards. This role will involve developing and implementing EHS policies, conducting training and audits, and fostering a culture of safety within the organization.Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies and procedures in line with regulations.
- Conduct risk assessments and identify hazards in the workplace.
- Monitor and report on EHS performance metrics and compliance status.
- Organize and conduct safety training sessions for employees and management.
- Investigate incidents and accidents, documenting findings, and recommending corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental and workplace safety regulations.
- Liaise with regulatory agencies and keep abreast of changes in legislation and best practices.
- Conduct regular EHS audits and inspections to ensure adherence to safety standards.
- Collaborate with other departments to promote safety initiatives and integrate EHS practices.
- Prepare and maintain reports and documentation for safety programs and incidents.
- Act as a resource for employees on issues related to occupational health and safety.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health, Safety, or related field.
- From 5 years of experience in EHS or a similar role, preferably in manufacturing industry
- Knowledge of applicable health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Certification such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or NEBOSH is preferred.
- Proficiency in EHS software and Microsoft Office Suite.
