Role Overview:
  • The Deputy Project Manager position is a role within the Marine Construction Department, responsible for overseeing and managing complex offshore projects. This includes ensuring the successful execution of projects related to offshore oil and gas construction, offshore wind energy, and other industrial construction projects.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop project plans ensuring quality, safety, health, and environmental standards are met.
  • Manage project timelines and budgets, ensuring the project stays on track and within financial limits.
  • Identify internal project tasks, estimate costs, and propose partners or joint ventures, ensuring the project is executed within budget using internal and external resources.
  • Set up project management documentation systems for project delivery.
  • Oversee and ensure feasibility, safety, and efficiency of project construction methods.
  • Manage coordination and communication among the company, clients, contractors, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
  • Interface with clients, partners, contractors, and authorities to address project issues and ensure company interests are protected.
  • Effectively manage project resources (personnel, equipment, maritime assets).
  • Establish reporting systems and hold regular meetings as required by the project and senior management.
  • Risk management: Identify, assess, and address risks and opportunities, ensuring project timelines are not impacted.
  • Change management: Respond to and resolve project changes, maintaining project quality and deadlines.
  • Document project status and ensure completion reports and equipment documentation are finalized.
  • Organize relationship-building events with clients, partners, and within the project team.
  • Ensure all calibrated tools are in calibration and all non-calibrated tools have the appropriate labeling.
Required Education & Experience
Education
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in mechanical engineering, Automation, Civil Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or related fields from accredited universities (domestic or international).
  • Additional qualifications such as Project Management or Business Administration, or a second degree in Project Management, Business Administration, or Law are a plus.
  • Major in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering Equipment, Petroleum Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation, Oil and Gas Drilling & Exploration, Petrochemical Technology, or equivalent fields.
Experience and skills 
  • 8-10 years of experience in engineering fields related to Oil & Gas, Renewable Energy, Construction, or Mechanical Assembly.
  • At least 5 years of project management experience in EPC/EPCI projects related to industrial construction, mechanical fabrication, and installation, with a preference for Offshore Oil & Gas Construction, Offshore Wind (Hook-up & Commissioning - HUC, Brownfield Modification - BFM).
  • Experience in Project Manager/Deputy Project Manager roles for at least 3 HUC or BFM projects with teams of 100+ personnel (direct and indirect).
  • Experience in managing interface with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, especially in interface management.
  • Familiar with bidding regulations for offshore oil and gas projects (HUC, BFM).
  • Knowledge of technical standards for rotating equipment (pumps, compressors, generators), ICSS control systems, PLC programming, and petroleum processing.
  • Basic knowledge of cost engineering for fabrication, installation of machinery, and equipment.
  • Experience in creating technical requirements for service tender packages and evaluating technical offers from contractors.
  • Proficient in project planning, progress reporting, design presentation, and resource mobilization.
  • Proficient in English (oral and written).
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Preferably experienced with project management software (MS Project, Primavera P6), AutoCAD, and project management tools.
  • PMP Certification or participation in professional project management training is a plus.
Other requirements: 
  • Professional certification in Project Management, Construction Supervision (Level 1 or 2) is an advantage.
  • Leadership, problem-solving skills, and ability to collaborate effectively.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills with clients, partners, and colleagues.
  • Willingness to travel frequently, both domestically and internationally, and work flexibly onshore and offshore.
