I. Key responsibilities:
- Translation and Interpretation: Provide accurate interpretation services between English and Vietnamese, ensuring that all communication is clear and culturally sensitive in the context of construction and building projects.
- On-Site Interpretation: Accompany international project teams to construction sites and provide real-time interpretation for discussions, meetings, and instructions. This includes technical and safety briefings.
- Document Translation: Translate written materials, such as project reports, documents, plans, and specifications, from English to Vietnamese and vice versa.
- Cultural Sensitivity: Demonstrate a deep understanding of both cultures to ensure effective communication and maintain a respectful atmosphere during interactions.
- Business Trip: Willingness to travel as required, both domestically and internationally, to attend project-related meetings, conferences, and on-site visits.
- Technical Knowledge: Familiarize yourself with construction and building terminology to ensure accurate and effective interpretation during technical discussions.
- Communication: Act as a bridge between international and local teams, ensuring that project requirements, changes, and updates are communicated effectively and accurately.
- Confidentiality: Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive project information and discussions.
II. What distinguishes you:
- Proven experience as an interpreter in a construction or building context, preferably with exposure to international projects.
- Proficiency in English and Vietnamese, both spoken and written.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent cultural awareness and sensitivity.
- Ability to work independently and adapt to rapidly changing situations.
- Availability for frequent business trips and flexibility in working hours as needed.
- Technical knowledge related to construction and building terminology is a plus.
- Relevant certifications or training in interpretation are beneficial.
