As an Associate, you will support the development and execution of M&A strategies—from strategy formulation to initial deal sourcing and pipeline development to post-merger integration—to create value for our clients as PIPE (Principal Investors and Private Equity Practice). In this role, you will work closely with senior team members on market research, financial analysis, and transaction-related documentation. Additionally, you will collaborate with strategy consulting teams to leverage client relationships and cross-sell services. Your responsibilities are primarily demonstrated as follows:
Transaction support:
- Conduct industry and market research to support transaction strategies and decision-making.
- Prepare pitch documents, teasers, information memoranda, and other transaction materials.
- Coordinate with clients and other stakeholders throughout the deal process.
- Collaborate with the strategy consulting team to cross-sell services and leverage client relationships.
Financial Analysis and Modeling:
- Perform detailed financial analysis, due diligence, and valuations for potential target companies.
- Develop and maintain financial models to support valuations, pricing strategies, and deal structuring.
Business Development and Origination:
- Stay updated on market trends, regulatory changes, and industry developments.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities or value-add angles for clients, in collaboration with senior team members.
- Cultivate a business-producing mindset by generating leads and building a pipeline of prospective deals.
- Collaborate with the strategy consulting team to expand existing client relationships and explore cross-selling opportunities.
Client Interaction:
- Participate in client meetings and presentations, providing analytical support to senior team members.
- Support senior staff in managing client expectations and contributing to positive client relationships.
Reporting:
- Actively report work progress, key findings, and any potential issues to your Line Manager or relevant project leads.
Minimum requirements
- Experience:
- At least 3 years of experience in investment banking, corporate finance, private equity, investment, management consulting, or a related field, with exposure to M&A transactions.
- Depending on the candidate’s level of experience, the position may be offered at either the Associate or Senior Associate level.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in financial modeling, valuation, and financial analysis. Strong competency in Excel, PowerPoint, and financial databases.
- Communication: Excellent written and oral communication skills in both English and Vietnamese.
- Teamwork: Proven ability to collaborate effectively in diverse teams and with various organizational levels.
- Attention to Detail: High degree of accuracy, with the ability to manage large data sets and complex analyses.
