As the MEP Design Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) design process for our projects. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including architects, engineers, project managers, and clients, to ensure the successful execution of MEP design projects from conception to completion. Your technical expertise, leadership skills, and project management abilities will be crucial in driving the MEP design department's success.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Team Leadership:
- Lead and manage a team of MEP design engineers, drafters, and technicians.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to team members, fostering professional growth and development.
- Oversee the planning and execution of MEP design projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
- Collaborate with project managers to develop project scopes, budgets, and schedules.
- Review and approve MEP design drawings, specifications, and calculations to ensure compliance with industry standards and client requirements.
- Conduct design reviews and provide technical expertise to resolve complex design issues.
- Act as a primary point of contact for clients regarding MEP design matters.
- Ensure client satisfaction by addressing their concerns and delivering high-quality design solutions.
- Implement and enforce quality control procedures to maintain the highest design standards.
- Conduct periodic audits of MEP design documents to identify and rectify any errors or omissions.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, codes, and regulations related to MEP design.
- Provide innovative solutions and recommendations for design improvements.
- Monitor project budgets and resource allocation to optimize efficiency and profitability.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is strongly preferred.
- 5 years of experience in MEP design, with a proven track record of successful project management.
- Proficiency in MEP design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and MEP engineering analysis tools.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of relevant industry codes and standards (e.g., ASHRAE, NEC, NFPA).
