Job Summary:
We are a leading company in the plastic manufacturing industry, known for producing high-quality plastic products. As part of our commitment to efficiency and customer satisfaction, we are seeking a Planning Officer to join our team. This role is critical in ensuring effective production scheduling, inventory management, and overall supply chain coordination to meet customer demands.
The Planning Officer will report directly to the Supply Chain Manager and will be responsible for managing production planning, inventory control, and warehouse operations. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize resources, minimize costs, and maintain inventory accuracy, contributing to overall operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Planning:
- Develop and maintain production schedules to meet customer orders, ensuring alignment with factory capacity and resource availability.
- Coordinate with production teams to ensure that production targets are met within the specified timelines.
- Monitor production progress and adjust schedules as needed to address delays, resource constraints, or quality issues.
Inventory Management:
- Monitor and manage inventory levels of raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods to ensure that stock is available for production without overstocking.
- Work with the Supply Chain Manager to optimize inventory levels, minimize excess stock, and reduce storage costs.
- Track inventory movements and collaborate with the procurement team to ensure timely ordering of materials to avoid shortages.
Warehouse Operations:
- Oversee warehouse activities, including receiving, storing, and dispatching of materials and products.
- Ensure proper warehouse layout and adherence to safety and quality standards.
- Monitor and control warehouse operations to minimize waste, reduce storage costs, and maintain efficiency
Material Requirement Planning (MRP):
- Review and analyze demand forecasts to determine material and production requirements.
- Work closely with the procurement team to ensure that raw materials are available in the correct quantities at the right time to avoid production delays.
- Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to manage lead times and delivery schedules.
Demand Forecasting:
- Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to understand customer demand and adjust production plans accordingly.
- Use historical data, market trends, and sales forecasts to predict future production needs and adjust planning strategies.
- Analyze trends to anticipate potential supply chain issues and proactively address them.
Process Optimization:
- Continuously review and improve planning processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and increase responsiveness to changing customer demands.
- Implement best practices for planning, scheduling, and inventory control to streamline production workflows and ensure on-time delivery.
- Use production planning software and tools to improve accuracy and efficiency in scheduling and resource allocation.
Collaboration & Communication:
- Coordinate with other departments (e.g., procurement, logistics, production, quality) to ensure alignment on planning objectives and deadlines.
- Communicate any changes to the production schedule or material requirements to relevant stakeholders.
- Provide regular updates and reports to the Supply Chain Manager on production status, inventory levels, and potential supply chain disruptions.
Reporting & Documentation:
- Prepare and submit regular reports on production schedules, inventory status, and any issues that could affect the supply chain.
- Maintain accurate records of production plans, material requisitions, and inventory levels for traceability and auditing purposes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years-experienced in Production Planning, Inventory Management or Warehouse Operation in Manufacturing Environment
- Plastic manufacturing industry and/or used to work with Japanese Management will be an advantage
- Experience with planning software or any enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
- Strong understanding of production planning, inventory management, and material requirement planning (MRP) techniques.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to forecast and adapt to changes in demand and production capacity.
- Knowledge of safety and quality standards in manufacturing and warehousing.
- Intermediate Level in English both written and spoken
- Able to start immediately will be a plus
