Role Overview
  • The Product Quality Inspector (PQI) is responsible for inspecting finished products and processes on-site with suppliers during manufacturing based on the company’s high-quality standards, ensuring that all products meet quality standards and are manufactured according to specifications. 
  • Product inspectors report directly to the Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) in their region and may undertake other tasks as assigned, such as corrective and preventative action resolution, process efficiency calculations, raw material inspection, first article (FA) inspection as well as supplier pre audit preparation.

Responsibilities
  • Inspect products both visually and manually to ensure they meet the company’s requirements for form, fit, and function.
  • Conduct inspections using a variety of manual and digital tools such as calipers, tape measures, gauges, etc., then logging the results into inspection software
  • Communicate identified non-conformances to supplier manufacturing and line managers.
  • Conduct and document supplier quality audits.
  • Alert quality assurance of ongoing problems and drive corrective and preventative actions to mitigate those problems.
  • Identify defects and inefficiencies in the manufacturing process and drive continuous improvement to resolution.
  • Document any identified defects during the manufacturing process.
  • Ensure defective products are segregated and quarantined.
  • Oversee any required rework and reinspect reworked products as needed.
  • Ensure all calibrated tools are in calibration and all non-calibrated tools have the appropriate labeling.

Required Education & Experience
  • At least 1 year of product inspection experience required, preferably from the same or similar industry.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical notes, procedures, and specifications.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent multitasking and time management skills.
  • Be able to enter data into various platforms accurately.
  • Advanced in English and Vietnamese. 
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (PFMEA & DFMEA), Root cause analysis (RCA), Statistical Process control (SPC) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with six sigma, lean manufacturing, ISO standards is a plus.
  • Be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001, 13485, 14001, & 45001.
