DUTIES: • Responsible for products quality control and accuracy of products inspection. • Supervise daily activities of Quality Inspectors Team to ensure adherence to established department, organization, and customer specification parameters. • Makes acceptance/rejection decisions on products and materials being inspected, interprets specifications and standards when required. Reviews and approves inspection reports, purchase orders and other documents as assigned. • Overall responsibility for the calibration and maintenance of inspection equipment. • Responsible for the determination of gauging and testing frequencies, methods and location in production sequence. • Recommend quality control methods (eg gauging) and provide feedback to Engineering where support is required to properly control the quality of products manufactured or supplied. Ensure that drawings are reflective of what is being made. • Management of the process for identifying, quarantining, and disposing non-conforming, new product, in a timely and thorough manner. • Audit quality control methods of suppliers, monitor and report on quality metrics for goods and service provided to AIV by suppliers. • Ownership and closure of corrective actions related to identified inspection deficiencies. • Implements and enforces inspection procedures and acceptance standards. • Raise and follow up Engineering Support Requests and Engineering Change Requests in consultation with the Operations Manager and Engineering Manager. • Interacts with outside suppliers and contractors relative to products and services. • Interacts with Manufacturing and Development personnel regarding quality concerns and issues. • Present quality metrics and analysis regularly to senior management team and external customers by way of a quarterly report and supplier quality audit reports. • Define resource needs and work within budget and staffing parameters to accomplish objectives. • Control QMS related documents and record per ISO 9000 standard. • Ensure AIV rules and policies are followed by department team and partner with HR to carry out disciplinary investigation and action as appropriate. • Ensure 5S standards are met for the area. • Promote safety culture and ensure department team’s compliance with safety rules and procedures. • Other as required. PREFERRED EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE: • Bachelor’s degree in Technical Discipline preferred. • Experience in inspection process supervision. • Internal Audit certification of ISO 9001:2015 OTHER REQUIREMENTS: • Able to supervise, prioritise, delegate & co-ordinate work. • Able to work unsupervised within a team environment. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Able to handle difficult personnel issues in a mature and professional manner
