Job Overview:

The Senior Costing Manager is responsible for overseeing the costing and pricing strategies for all footwear products. This role involves detailed analysis of manufacturing costs, pricing strategies, and ensuring financial targets are met. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in costing, strong analytical skills, and a deep understanding of the footwear industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Cost Analysis and Control:

    • Develop and maintain detailed cost models for all footwear products.
    • Analyze material, labor, and overhead costs to ensure accurate product costing.
    • Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to reduce costs without compromising quality.
  2. Pricing Strategy:

    • Develop and implement pricing strategies that align with company financial goals.
    • Conduct market analysis to ensure competitive pricing.
    • Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to set optimal pricing structures.
  3. Budgeting and Forecasting:

    • Prepare and manage budgets for product costing and pricing.
    • Forecast future costs and pricing trends to support strategic planning.
    • Provide financial projections and reports to senior management.
  4. Cross-Functional Collaboration:

    • Work closely with the design, production, and procurement teams to ensure accurate cost estimates.
    • Coordinate with the finance department to align costing processes with overall financial policies.
    • Support the sales team with cost and pricing information for customer proposals and negotiations.
  5. Process Improvement:

    • Continuously improve costing methodologies and processes.
    • Implement best practices in costing and pricing.
    • Stay updated on industry trends and technological advancements to enhance costing accuracy.
  6. Reporting and Documentation:

    • Prepare detailed costing reports and present findings to senior management.
    • Maintain accurate and comprehensive costing documentation.
    • Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. A master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) is a plus.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in costing and pricing, preferably within the footwear or apparel industry.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and cost structures in the footwear industry.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in costing software and ERP systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other financial analysis tools.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
