Dimensions: Assist supervisor on end-to-end sourcing activities in respective product category.
Job Purpose:
- Serve as a critical communication link among our overseas customers, our suppliers and all internal departments on all sourcing related activities.
- Assist the supervisor to ensure all products sourced conform to customer requirements, track orders, stay on schedule, ship on time and all products at retail are free of quality issues.
- Able to manage projects independently and inform his/her supervisor timely with counter solutions at the right time.
Key Responsibilities & Critical Success Measures:
Program management:
- Be responsible for sourcing activities with respective product category.
- Ensure product quality, delivery and price objectives are met.
- Able to work on items/projects that involve various suppliers, materials, product formats & working processes.
- Identify and vet the right suppliers and factories to ensure capability and timely order execution.
- Proactively identifying potential product and production issues.
- Able to monitor production schedules with factories and reports to supervisors & customers regularly.
- Able to identify & capture cost savings independently.
- Able to work with the engineer & testing staff to ensure the related tests or user trials are well managed.
- Understand corporate directions and initiatives on Lean & Sustainability, proactively engage to drive positive business results.
- Develop knowledge of supplier's capabilities, capacity and performance and contribute to the right placement decisions.
- Partners with engineers and quality related personnel to closely monitor supplier’s quality performance and implement improvement plans as needed to ensure product quality.
- Ensure all supplier quotations and samples are completed in a timely manner for appropriate decision making.
- Execute placements based on supplier capability, capacity, quality & delivery performance.
- Quote review and understand design intent of bid packages, proactively provide alternative design solutions to cost challenged product, which retain the aesthetic and quality requirements as well as achieving cost saving objective.
- Oversees product development process for their product categories and negotiates the best price with suppliers.
- Able to evaluate product and do final approval, review packaging construction, select suitable production process and appropriate testing method to fulfill the requirements.
- Distribute product specifications to the designated supplier. Understand and highlight product requirements of each program to relevant cross functional teams/Suppliers.
- Establish relationships with customers to further understand their expectation and needs. Proactively source new materials and formats, consistently share process knowledge, supplier capabilities, innovative ideas, new product formats, and manufacturing processes with customers and business partners.
- Support customers enquiries independently; product sourcing, sample coordination and prompt delivery.
- Well-organized for filing system and project management.
- Obtain quotes and monitor production schedule, maintain update of respective computer system.
- Maintain updates in system (PLM/SAP/PAVE) on Job/PO/contract levels.
- Tertiary education
- 5+ years of procurement experience with print or 3d product category is a definite advantage.
- Good sourcing skills, negotiation skills and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge in SAP is an advantage.
- Fluent English in both written & spoken.
- Fluent Putonghua is an advantage.
- Strong in Excel, good in Words and PowerPoint
