Job Summary:

 

The Standard Officer is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining quality, safety, and environmental standards within the organization in alignment with ISO and other international standards. This role ensures that processes, products, and services meet regulatory and internal standards to optimize quality and efficiency.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Standard Development and Implementation:
  • Develop and implement quality, safety, and environmental standards and procedures based on ISO guidelines (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 14001, 5S).
  • Collaborate with different departments to align operational procedures with industry standards.
  • Monitor changes in ISO regulations and ensure compliance with updated requirements.
  • Audit and Compliance:
  • Plan, schedule, and conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with ISO and company standards.
  • Identify non-conformities, report findings, and work with teams to address any deviations.
  • Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate periodic certification audits and renewals.
  • Training and Development:
  • Conduct training sessions for employees to raise awareness of quality, environmental, and safety standards.
  • Develop training materials and resources to educate staff on compliance requirements and best practices.
  • Guide departments in implementing corrective actions and preventive measures.
  • Document Management:
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to ISO compliance, audits, and corrective actions.
  • Ensure all standard operating procedures (SOPs) are updated and readily available.
  • Develop and manage document control systems to streamline quality management processes.
  • Risk Assessment and Continuous Improvement:
  • Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential quality, environmental, and safety risks.
  • Recommend and implement continuous improvement initiatives based on audit findings and performance data.
  • Work closely with management to establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure compliance effectiveness.
  • Reporting and Communication:
  • Prepare and present reports on compliance status, audit findings, and improvements to management.
  • Communicate with cross-functional teams to ensure a clear understanding of standards and expectations.
  • Act as a point of contact for any inquiries related to standards and compliance.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quality Management, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 - 5 years of experience in quality or standards management, preferably with ISO certification processes.
  • ISO certifications (e.g., Lead Auditor in ISO 9001, ISO 14001) are highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO standards and quality management systems.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in documentation and record-keeping.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
