Job Overview: 

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Veneer Production Manager to lead our veneer production operations. This role involves overseeing the entire veneer production process, ensuring high-quality output, and optimizing efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in veneer production techniques, including log grading, slicing, cooking, and drying, and will work closely with the production team and factories to ensure seamless operations. 
 

Job Responsibilities: 

1. Quality Control and Reporting: Inspect the quality of incoming logs to ensure they meet our standards and prepare and submit comprehensive quality reports on the logs received. 

2. Scheduling and Coordination: Develop and manage schedules for log slicing in coordination with the slicing factory and maintain effective communication with factory personnel to ensure timely and efficient processing. 

3. Log Cooking and Recipe Management: Verify the accuracy of log cooking recipes and ensure they are correctly followed and possess in-depth knowledge of cooking recipes for at least 10 main species, with a focus on American and European species. 

4. Veneer Processing: Grade and clip sliced veneer according to precise specifications, oversee the entire veneer slicing production process, ensuring optimal performance and conduct flitching, cooking, and slicing of veneer to meet production targets. 

5. Problem-Solving and Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve issues promptly within the production process and address and mitigate problems arising from production or human error effectively. 

6. Team Management and Collaboration: Lead and manage the production team, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment and handling staff management duties and ensuring smooth workflow throughout the production process. 

7. Proficiency in either Chinese or English is required; fluency in both languages is highly preferred. 
 

Job Qualifications: 

  • Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in veneer production. 

  • Strong skills in veneer grading, slicing, flitching, and cooking. 

  • Ability to work extended hours and manage work pressure effectively. 

  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to production challenges. 

  • Strong communication and team management capabilities. 

  • Bilingual proficiency in Chinese and English is a significant advantage. 
     

Location and Work Conditions: 

  • Location: Primarily based at contracted veneer mills in Trang Bang, Tay Ninh, or other locations as needed. 

  • Home Trip: One company-funded round trip per year. 

  • Travel Expenses: Covered based on actual expenses unless company transport is provided. 

  • Working Hours: 48 hours per week, with a maximum of 10 hours per day. Excess hours beyond 48 per week will be compensated with days off. A one-hour lunch break is not included in the working hours.
