ManpowerGroup Vietnam Convenes Ministry of Labor, Educators and Business Leaders to Develop Practical Solutions to Develop Tomorrow’s Workforce Today

ManpowerGroup Vietnam hosts event: “International Integration: Developing the Future Vietnamese Workforce” in Hanoi to help Vietnam develop a globally competitive workforce

Hanoi, December 3rd, 2018. Today, ManpowerGroup Vietnam in collaboration with the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA) convenes representatives from governmental organizations, employers, educational institutions and leading local media for a workshop "International Integration: The Future Workforce".

The participants will discuss the implications of automation and technology on skills, and how stakeholders can work together to help people upskill and reskill in this Skills Revolution when new roles emerge as fast as others become obsolete.

“Vietnam has a large and youthful population making it an attractive country for foreign investment” said Simon Matthews, Country Manager ManpowerGroup Vietnam, Thailand and the Middle East. “Yet just 11% of Vietnamese workers are highly skilled, this presents great opportunity to upskill people for roles in growth sectors. Employers, government and educators need to work together to help people prepare for a future of work that is more digital and more fast-paced than ever before. That’s why I’m pleased to bring these groups together, so we can help people develop the skills employers need and ensure the Vietnamese workforce is globally competitive for the long-term”.

At the workshop ManpowerGroup Vietnam announces the Annual Scholarship Program. The scholarship is aimed at supporting the students in developing technical and soft skills that will help them secure meaningful and sustainable work upon graduation. ManpowerGroup provides soft skills training to students in their 1st -2nd years, career orientation for students in their 3rd – 4th years and helps develop important soft and technical skills through internship opportunities. The award is presented by Ms. Le Thi Kim, Head of Staffing and Outsourcing Service, North Vietnam.
