VIETNAM, 22nd December 2020. ManpowerGroup (NYSE: MAN) Talent Solutions' unique Total Workforce Index™ (TWI) combines Big Data with expert analysis to identify the workforce engagement potential of 76 markets. This year the annual TWI report finds United States, New Zealand and Canada are most attractive for employer investment based on 200 factors evaluating skills availability, cost efficiency, regulation, and productivity. In an increasingly complex global market, access to skilled talent is a top priority for organizations looking to build or grow their business.
For this year’s analysis, ManpowerGroup Talent Solutions took a deeper look at talent availability, comparing the percentage of remote-ready workforces in different markets and exploring the availability of cybersecurity resources. IT skills, particularly those that support remote work such as cybersecurity, continue to be in demand, along with an ongoing need for medical, operations and logistics and those roles deemed essential.
New Zealand, Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan and South Korea are the top markets in the APAC region. Singapore and Hong Kong rank highly for workforce productivity. The top five markets consistently outperform both India and China which in the past have received most of the attention, due in part to the size of their workforce. They present a combination of quality skills, capability, English proficiency and availability plus a more flexible regulatory environment.
Mr. Simon Matthews, Regional Manager, ManpowerGroup Thailand, Vietnam and The Middle East said, "In this changing world of work, especially under the impact of the global pandemic, new arising in-demand skills are transforming the workforce landscape. Employers are thinking long-term when it comes to their entire workforce. We have proven businesses can run in a different way. It’s important to not only identify what’s sustainable in this new normal, but to bridge the skills and technology needed to realistically sustain these new ways of working.”
The TWI 2020 also identifies the top five markets globally for Cost Efficiency: the Philippines, Croatia, Morocco, Vietnam and Thailand. These markets are driven by favorable country dynamics, such as cost of labor and regulations.
Vietnamese average monthly wage stands at USD 321/month in 2020, which has increased by 32.6% compared to 2019, while regional average is USD 1,835 /month.
