Our Speakers

Re-defining well-being of workers in the new normal

“Now is the time to rethink the way people work, are recognized and rewarded with parents’ front and center, particularly for women.” - Ms. Nguyen Thanh Huong, Country HR Manager, ManpowerGroup Vietnam.

Given the impacts of Covid-19, HR people need to look at their roles as well-being experts in an organization, apart from their traditional roles. Especially, they need to understand working parents’ needs, i.e. what matters most to them at the Workplace, at Home and in the Future. It’s also remarkable to know that 8 in 10 workers want to better balance work and family in future and women are over-represented in sectors most impacted by COVID-19.

How to turn the crisis into opportunity and role of HR in supporting business in difficult times

“Dealing with COVID-19 pandemic crisis in any organization is all about People. Any “crisis” includes both “danger” and “opportunities” - Ms. Truong Bich Dao, Human Resources Director, Nestle Vietnam.

As HR leaders in the organizations, we don’t just handle this “crisis” with its “danger” part only, but we strive also to tackle its “opportunities” part to support our business go through difficulties toward success. Every business faces the risks of human resources disruption, especially in the most heavily impacted industries. As a leading F&B global company, Nestle Vietnam’s HR people have devised both reactive and preventive plans to counter this worst crisis ever.

You, Me or Us?

“Now is the time for all people in an organization to unite for success, or we’ll be defeated by the pandemic.” - Ms. Le Thi Ngoc Huong, Group Insurance Director, Sovico cum Deputy CEO, HD Insurance.

Each person plays at least a key role in an organization, whether he/she is at entry, junior, senior or leadership level. We don’t refer to issues coming from the crisis as Yours or Mine, but we refer to them as Ours. The united workforce plays a critical role to help us fight this crisis so impressively. And you know we don’t have any laid off workers among up to 30,000 people of our Sovico Group during this pandemic!
