Mission:

  • This role controls and oversees all business operations, people and ventures, and will be responsible for the overall success of the business focusing primarily on the Highlands Coffee CPG with additional responsibility for Logistics Warehousing and Distribution (LWD).
  • The ideal candidate will be a strategist and a leader able to steer the company in the most profitable direction while also implementing its vision, mission, long-term and short-term goals.
  • The goal is to ensure the company is constantly moving towards fulfilling its short-term and long-term objectives and does not diverge from its strategic guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and implement comprehensive business plans to facilitate achievement by planning cost-effective operations and market development activities
  • Develop & implement sales strategies
    • Develop and execute the company’s business strategies to attain the goals of the board and shareholders
    • Identify the potential of new markets and opportunities, and be agile in adjusting plans as needed
    • Analyse trends and data to formulate effective sales plans aimed at increasing revenue.
  • Oversee the BU's financial performance, investments and other business ventures
  • Analyze problematic situations and occurrences and provide solutions to ensure company survival and growth
  • Oversee day-to-day logistics, warehouse, and distribution activities for efficiency and compliance.
    • Ensure that warehouse operations are optimized for efficiency, accuracy, and safety.
    • Oversee warehouse operations to ensure efficient storage, handling, and distribution of inventory.
    • Ensure that all logistics, warehouse, and distribution activities adhere to legal requirements, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
  • Set and manage sales targets and monitor performance
    • Set targets, delegate responsibilities, and supervise the work of executives providing guidance and motivation to drive maximum performance
    • Analyse sales data and provide constructive feedback to the teams
    • Read all submitted reports by lower rank managers to reward performance, prevent issues, and resolve problems
  • Manage and motivate the teams to foster productivity and engagement
    • Recruit, retain and develop top talent to ensure a capable and motivated team
    • Ensure they have the necessary skills they need to succeed
    • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability to drive employee engagement and performance
    • Regularly assess individual and team performance
  • Communicate and maintain trust relationships with shareholders, business partners and authorities
  • Ensure policies and legal guidelines are communicated from the top down in the BU and that they are followed at all times

Requirements/Specifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field (Master's degree is a plus).

Experience: Proven experience in the FMCG industry with a minimum of 10 years in senior leadership roles
