Position Title: Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Manager

Job Function/Purpose:

  • Reports directly to the Corporate Social Responsibility Eastern Hemisphere Senior Manager. Responsible for the overall CSR program for Vietnam.
  • Provide leadership, develop strategies, direct actions, and manage Global Standards for Suppliers (GSS) and Global Ethics and Compliance (GEC) programs.
  • Ensure full implementation of Global Standards for Suppliers (GSS) at all applicable locations, both owned and sourced.
  • Oversee the successful implementation of the Global Ethics and Compliance Program (GEC) for Vietnam.

Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Provide expertise to regional facilities and act as liaison with the corporate CSR department.
  • Oversee internal and external factory monitoring programs, including performing social compliance audits, ranking and scoring production facilities, remediation follow-up, and training/capacity building.
  • Continuously evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of the GSS compliance program, including improving auditing techniques, procedures, and the scope of the compliance program and auditing tools to cope with changing regulations.
  • Work closely with owned facilities, vendors, factories, buying agents, trading companies, etc., to ensure corrective action plans are timely, relevant, and actionable.
  • Collaborate closely with factory representatives to drive continuous improvements. Conduct shadow audits and check-the-checker audits to ensure the quality of audits performed by independent third-party auditors.
  • Oversee day-to-day management of factory inspection processes, including audit report reviews, factory scoring and ranking, and post-inspection remediation.
  • Continuously monitor the performance of external auditing firms.
  • Prepare audit analytics reports by identifying trends and patterns.
  • Immediately highlight serious non-compliances to the direct supervisor.
  • Manage and communicate resulting Corrective and Preventive Action Plans (CPAP) to sourcing, commercial, and licensing departments.
  • Integrate the compliance program post-acquisition of a new brand.
  • Oversee the GPS auditing process for the region.
  • Function as a local liaison with regional Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) such as WRC, MSN, etc.
  • Manage all remediation resulting from CSO investigations and recommendations.
  • Support and assist local management in administering and implementing the GEC program.
  • Ensure compliance with the Global Code of Conduct (GCC).
  • Function as the local lead investigator for all GCC violations.
  • Support the deployment of the GEC program through education and promotion, including training on policies and standards.

Experience and Skills Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • Over 8 years of social compliance audit experience and experience in internal investigations.
  • Knowledge of labor laws and relevant regulations, social compliance standards, and certification programs (SLCP, SMETA).
  • Ability to understand factory management systems and operations.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Presentation and coaching skills.
  • Effective time management and prioritization skills.
  • English fluency and good computer skills.
  • Self-motivated, hardworking, and proactive. Well-organized and able to multitask.
  • Frequent travel, at least 50%.
