  • Our Client, a leading service provider in Vietnam's oil and gas industry, is looking for Legal and Contract Specialist for their business in Vietnam.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as the main contact for managing, implementing, advising, and assisting the leadership of the Department/Executive Board on legal matters, providing legal counsel for all business operations of the company as well as for the Board of Directors and Executive Board in corporate governance.
  • Advise and assist the leadership of the Department/Executive Board in applying legal regulations, group policies, and corporate standards in the company’s production and business operations.
  • Provide legal advice and support to the company on issues governed by Vietnamese and international laws related to the company’s business activities; assist other departments in ensuring compliance with legal requirements throughout the company.
  • Review, evaluate, and advise on the legal conditions and clauses of business contracts from the bidding stage to project implementation. Participate in negotiations with clients/partners/subcontractors to finalize contracts or resolve disputes arising during contract performance (if any).
  • Lead and manage disputes through courts/arbitration for contracts and have experience participating in legal cases involving companies.
  • Directly handle tasks related to drafting, reviewing, and providing feedback on contracts from the Business Development Department.
  • Assist in contract review and explain legal matters to relevant departments upon request.
  • Research and assess potential legal risks that may affect business decisions and operations.
  • Develop risk management methods and provide legal advice on potential issues to the leadership team.
  • Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders such as government agencies, consultants, advisors, criminal or civil litigators, etc.
  • Study legal aspects that may impact the rights and business operations of the company and prepare necessary legal documentation to ensure the company’s lawful operation.
  • Periodically update and notify related units of new legal documents and amendments following company procedures. Lead and coordinate with relevant departments to evaluate compliance with legal requirements regarding documents related to the company’s business operations.
Job Requirements:
  • Educational level:
  • A university degree or higher in Law.
  • A valid lawyer’s certificate/license. 
  • Experiences and knowledges:
  • At least 10 years of experience in contract and legal management in the oil and gas construction sector and large-scale projects.
  • Experience working as a legal and financial consultant for businesses.
  • Knowledge of Vietnamese law and other commonly used legal systems (e.g., English law, Singaporean law).
  • Familiarity with the regulations and policies of the oil and gas industry, as well as those of the company, the parent company, and the relevant group in the scope of work responsibility.
  • Ability to stay updated with new legal information and recently issued legal documents.
  • Experience handling documents in English and strong negotiation skills in both Vietnamese and English regarding business contracts.
  • Good at computer skills. 
Other requirements: 
  • In-depth knowledge of legal regulations and expertise in handling disputes through courts/arbitration, with experience in participating in legal cases for companies.
  • Proficient in handling various types of documents (especially legal documents) in English, with strong negotiation skills for economic contracts in both Vietnamese and English.
