Company brief:
  • Our Client, a leading service provider in Vietnam's oil and gas industry, is looking for QC Manager for their business in Vietnam.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the establishment and operation of the QC management system at projects according to the company's, clients’, and legal requirements.
  • Directly implement and monitor quality management/control, the acceptance of technical phases, and supervision of document control for work at the company and projects.
  • Responsible for investigating, analyzing, and tracking the resolution of non-conforming issues/products during the company's work and project activities.
  • Lead the development of quality control procedures, including the planning and acceptance (ITP) of all fabrication and construction stages for the company and projects.
  • Implement the establishment and maintenance of records for quality control and technical phase acceptance at the company and projects.
  • Responsible for managing quality documentation; establishing welding procedure libraries, and maintaining welder qualifications to serve company projects and production.
  • Implement preparation of bidding documents, develop quality documentation, and manage quality for company projects.
  • Research and propose new welding technologies and equipment to improve productivity and quality when assigned.
  • Manage and maintain certification systems related to quality control supervision as assigned.
  • Oversee the completion of project closeout documentation: plan, implement, and track progress with relevant stakeholders to ensure timely project completion.
  • Participate in audits as planned and unexpectedly, as well as client evaluations; monitor the implementation of corrective actions for recommendations in these meetings.
  • Participate in contractor evaluations (service providers) in the QC field; follow up on corrective actions for service providers after evaluations; coordinate QC support for service providers to meet company and client requirements.
  • Assign tasks, exchange information, coordinate work for QC personnel, and manage issues between the company and clients, interfacing with stakeholders (subcontractors, authorities).
  • Risk control: Apply tools to identify, assess, and address risks/opportunities, resolve risks, leverage opportunities, and ensure issues are quickly addressed to prevent project delays.
  • Change management: Develop plans to manage and resolve changes effectively to ensure QC work in the project is not affected.
Job Requirements:
Educational level:
  • A university degree or higher in engineering or related fields.
  • Technical fields such as: electrical, automation, mechanical, fabrication, piping,transportation/maritime, design/construction, or equivalent areas.
  • Certifications such as CSWIP 3.2; NDT Level 2; NACE; FROSIO, or equivalent.
  • ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification.
Experiences and knowledges:
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in QC within the oil and gas, or renewable energy industry.
  • At least 5 years of experience in the role of QC Manager/Deputy Manager/Leader for EPC/EPCI projects related to construction, fabrication, and installation. Preference is given to projects involving offshore oil and gas facilities, offshore wind power (T&I transport and installation, HUC testing and commissioning, and BFM upgrades for offshore oil and gas projects), as well as rig construction and offshore facilities (especially those working with international clients).
  • Experience working with project owners, subcontractors, suppliers, particularly in interface management between different parties.
  • Proficient in planning, preparing procedures, controlling human resources and equipment, and reporting on QC progress for projects.
  • Experience in preparing QC requirements and participating in the preparation of QC tender documents.
  • Strong leadership and teamwork skills.
  • Minimum 1 year of offshore work experience.
  • Good at computer skills, AI tools (Chat GPT).
