POSITION PURPOSE

The International Student Recruitment team is responsible for expanding student enrolment from global markets. This role focuses on business development, student recruitment, and managing key partnerships to enhance the University's international presence.

The postholder will bring strong market expertise, native-level Chinese proficiency, and experience in higher education recruitment. Based in Vietnam, the role includes opportunities for travel and professional growth.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

  • Play a key role in implementing the ISR 2025 strategy: developing business in China; developing agency network worldwide; ensuring organizational enrolment targets are achieved from both sources
  • Exploit opportunities to work with market-leading student recruitment agencies
  • Maximise the potential of the University's existing agency network through effective account management – keeping in regular (e.g. bi-weekly) contact with key agencies/stakeholders to maximise enrolment numbers
  • Apply  agency appointment and governance procedures
  • Support agencies through onboarding process
  • Provide training to agencies/new staff as required
  • Exploit collaborative (cost-effective) marketing opportunities with agencies (online where possible)
  • Use CRM/SharePoint to accurately record information and store key documentation
  • Work closely with Finance department to pay agency commission
  • Undertake periodic (e.g. annual) evaluation of agency performance and make recommendations to Head, ISR
  • Organise an annual event for high performing agencies in Hanoi
  • Work directly with international prospects as required (notably in China market)
  • Provide expert advice, entry requirements and features and benefits of programmes
  • Travel overseas (estimated four times a year to China) – attending exhibitions (and visiting agencies and partners) as required
  • Gather and provide ongoing market intelligence and recommendations to key stakeholders about global HE market (notably China)
  • Provide written and verbal reports as required
  • Support other events and webinars hosted by the team

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS

COMPETENCIES (knowledge, skills, and abilities)

Essential

  • Full professional proficiency in Chinese language (Mandarin)
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience doing business in China in higher education environment
  • Proven record in B2B sales and/or account management
  • CRM experience
  • An undergraduate degree completed with a 2nd class classification or above (or equivalent)
  • Excellent computer literacy skills (including high proficiency in Microsoft Office, in particular Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and English language skills
  • Ability to undertake administrative tasks

  • Master’s degree (business field)
