Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Tax Manager to join our client accounting & finance team. The Tax Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of tax compliance, planning, and reporting for the organization. The ideal candidate should possess in-depth knowledge of tax regulations, strong analytical skills, and the ability to lead a team effectively.
Responsibilities:

Tax Compliance:
- Ensure timely and accurate filing of all local tax returns.
- Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Review tax calculations, forms, and supporting documentation prepared by the team.
- Manage correspondence and communication with tax authorities.

Tax Planning:
- Develop and implement tax strategies that optimize the organization's tax position.
- Provide guidance to the executive team on the potential tax implications of business decisions.
- Identify opportunities for tax savings and risk mitigation.
- Participate in mergers, acquisitions, and other business transactions to assess tax implications.

Team Leadership:
- Supervise and mentor a team of tax professionals, providing guidance and training.
- Delegate tasks and assignments, ensuring efficient use of resources.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.

Financial Reporting:
- Collaborate with the finance team to ensure accurate tax provisions for financial reporting purposes.
- Review financial statements and disclosures to verify compliance with tax reporting requirements.
- Prepare tax-related footnotes and disclosures for external financial statements.

Audits and Reviews:
- Coordinate and manage tax audits and reviews by external auditors or tax authorities.
- Prepare and provide necessary documentation for audit inquiries.
- Address and resolve any discrepancies or issues raised during audits.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with legal, accounting, and finance departments to align tax strategies with broader business objectives.
- Provide guidance to colleagues on tax implications of transactions and projects.

- Conduct thorough research on complex tax issues and provide recommendations.
- Analyze and interpret tax regulations, rulings, and court decisions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Master's degree and/or CPA designation preferred.
- Proven experience (X+ years) in tax compliance, planning, and related fields.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations.
