Job Summary:

The Finance Manager will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the company, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and providing strategic financial insights to support business decisions. This role will involve managing financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, risk management, and leading the finance team. The Finance Manager will play a crucial role in optimizing financial performance, focusing on operational efficiency, and supporting renewable energy or conventional energy project financing.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Planning & Analysis:

    • Lead the development of annual budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial strategies.
    • Conduct variance analysis on financial performance and provide recommendations for cost optimization.
    • Analyze market trends, energy pricing models, and financial implications of energy projects.
  2. Financial Reporting:

    • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow reports.
    • Ensure compliance with local and international accounting standards (e.g., IFRS or GAAP).
    • Coordinate with external auditors for the annual audit process.
  3. Project Finance:

    • Support financing for energy projects (renewable or traditional), including loan arrangements, investor relations, and partnership management.
    • Manage the financial aspects of energy project investments, including CAPEX management, return on investment (ROI) analysis, and risk assessments.
    • Liaise with lenders and financial institutions to secure project funding and monitor covenant compliance.
  4. Risk Management:

    • Identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks, including foreign exchange, commodity pricing, and regulatory risks.
    • Implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.
    • Oversee the management of energy trading, hedging strategies, and exposure to market fluctuations.
  5. Taxation & Compliance:

    • Ensure timely and accurate tax filings, including corporate tax, VAT, and other energy-related taxes.
    • Monitor compliance with local laws and energy industry regulations, ensuring all financial activities adhere to legal requirements.
  6. Cash Flow & Treasury Management:

    • Manage company cash flow to ensure adequate liquidity for operational needs and capital expenditures.
    • Oversee treasury functions, including banking relationships, cash management, and debt servicing.
    • Optimize working capital and implement strategies to improve cash flow management.
  7. Team Leadership & Development:

    • Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team to enhance skills and ensure efficient financial operations.
    • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and performance excellence within the finance team.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. MBA or CFA/CPA qualification preferred.
  • 5-10 years of experience in finance, with a strong background in energy or infrastructure sectors.
  • In-depth knowledge of financial principles, energy sector regulations, and project financing.
  • Proficiency in financial software (e.g., SAP, Microsoft Dynamics) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in renewable energy finance, energy trading, or large-scale infrastructure projects is a plus.
