On May 25, 2023, Ms. Huong Nguyen, the Country HR Manager of ManpowerGroup Vietnam, joined the AmCham HR Committee meeting as one of the keynote speakers. The meeting, which was hosted by AmCham Vietnam, aimed to provide the audience with information, knowledge, and experience about Green Talents for ESG. Additionally, it also helped to update the audience on the latest and relevant government regulations and policies relating to labor practices.
As a representative from ManpowerGroup Vietnam, Ms. Huong has shared information about Green Talents and Green Skills that helps the company in driving their ESG strategy as well as the sustainable development program. Ms. Huong stated, "Every day, ManpowerGroup has provided meaningful job opportunities to over 600,000 workers worldwide." In addition, in 2022, ManpowerGroup offered more than 2,000 Green Placements in the APME (Asia Pacific, Middle East) region and supported over 150 clients in finding Green Talent. Ms. Huong specifically mentioned, "ManpowerGroup Vietnam has been providing hundreds of green job opportunities for workers since 2022."
At the meeting, Mr. Phong Luc, a representative from Baker McKenzie, provided legal updates on the Revised Law on Social Insurance, the Personal Data Protection Decree from an employment perspective, and the increase in the General Minimum Wage. Accordingly, Mr. Phong Luc shared: "Decree No. 24 states that the General Minimum Wage (GMW) will increase from VND 1,490,000 (approximately USD 65) to VND 1,800,000 (approximately USD 78)."
The meeting provided crucial information and the latest updates on laws and policies related to labor practices. In addition, the practical insights shared by ManpowerGroup Vietnam contributed to the success of the AmCham HR Committee meeting.
