Digital and sustainability-driven jobs are in high demand
VIETNAM, DECEMBER 17, 2024 – ManpowerGroup Vietnam’s latest 2025 Salary Guide is out now, serving as an essential resource for organizations, employers and candidates seeking insights into Vietnam's dynamic labor market. This year’s guide not only provides salary benchmarks for 700+ roles spanning 12 industry verticals but also delves into total workforce cost, including pay raises, bonus schemes, top in-demand skills and roles. Additionally, it highlights what key players in the market are offering to attract and retain top talent.
Salary and remuneration package in Vietnam for 2025
Positive salary trends across most industries: Despite a slight decrease in starting salaries for some roles, starting salaries have remained unchanged for the majority of positions across all industries. Notably, the maximum pay for certain positions with over five years of experience has increased by approximately US$500 per month.
Industries with the highest pay: Banking & Financial Services significantly outperforms other industries in terms of pay, followed by Digital & Technology. C-suite and senior management roles have salary ranges between US$8,000 – US$15,000 per month.
Annual pay raises vary by industry: Logistics & Supply Chain leads with annual increases of 10% - 20%, while Consumer Goods & Retail see more modest raise of around 3% - 7%.
Wellbeing is prioritized: With employers increasingly focused on their employees' wellbeing, common benefits provided include offering health and safety programs, and premium health insurance, with many companies even extending coverage to family members.
A picture of recruitment landscape in the coming year
Digital and green transformation gaining momentum across industries: Companies are prioritizing technology upgrades, digitalization, AI and automation, and sustainable practices. This focus drives high recruitment demand in emerging functions like digital engineering, ESG, risk management, and compliance.
Semiconductors as a rising star: Vietnam is emerging as a potential semiconductor hub for global manufacturers, driven by competitive labor costs, government incentives, and increased foreign investments. In 2025, recruitment will focus on three key areas: the surging demand for skilled engineers, a growing emphasis on R&D roles to drive innovation, and a shift toward developing local talent. This industry offers the most generous bonuses in 2025 among others, up to 33% of the annual salary.
Growing demand for foreign language skills: As Vietnam becomes more globally integrated, employers increasingly require workers to be proficient in at least one foreign language. Besides English, languages such as Chinese (for Manufacturing), Japanese (for Real Estate), and Korean (for Industrial Trading) are highly sought after.
ManpowerGroup Vietnam forecasts an emerging trend of green jobs as part of ESG adoption across sectors in 2025. Simon Matthews, Regional Manager for Southeast Asia at ManpowerGroup, shared: “Our recruitment data reveals that demand for green talent in Vietnam is currently high in Manufacturing, Technology, Energy, Transportation & Logistics, and Agriculture. With only 9% of businesses in APAC having the talent they need for their ESG goals, we believe this trend will become more prominent in the coming year.”
Beyond compensation, job seekers are now significantly influenced by factors such as job fulfillment, personal stability, societal and environmental impact, and organizational contribution. Therefore, Nguyen Thu Trang, Head of Manpower Brand, ManpowerGroup Vietnam, believes this will be an increasing challenge in the era of talent shortages. She advises: “Employers need to be more creative in attracting talent by offering diverse benefits such as premium health insurance and professional coaching sessions.”
Vietnam will continue to experience robust business growth in 2025, with more enterprises establishing the country as their strategic market. Leveraging over 17 years of HR expertise in Vietnam, ManpowerGroup Vietnam offers the Salary Guide 2025 providing valuable insights and guidance for business leaders, HR managers, and job seekers to stay competitive in an evolving world of work.
