Job Title: Chief Operating Officer (COO)
Location: Vietnam

Overview:
The COO will be a key executive responsible for overseeing and optimizing production operations across multiple garment manufacturing plants. This role focuses on ensuring smooth production flow, implementing lean methodologies, maintaining high-quality standards, and achieving operational excellence. Reporting directly to the Operations Director, the COO will lead and manage three General Managers (each overseeing a plant) with dotted line oversight for functions such as Lean, Quality Assurance, Project Management, and Maintenance. Local candidates with expatriate experience are preferred.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Production Operations Management:

    • Direct and oversee daily operations of three garment manufacturing facilities.
    • Work with General Managers to set and achieve production, efficiency, and quality targets.
    • Ensure all plants adhere to company policies, safety regulations, and compliance requirements.
  2. Strategic Planning & Restructuring:

    • Drive the restructuring efforts to streamline operations for greater efficiency.
    • Collaborate with the Operations Director to implement strategies that align with company goals.
    • Analyze and optimize production processes to reduce costs and improve output.
  3. Lean & Process Improvement:

    • Lead Lean initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
    • Monitor and refine operational processes across all plants to achieve continuous improvement.
    • Collaborate closely with the Lean team to ensure effective implementation and adherence.
  4. Quality Assurance:

    • Establish and maintain high standards for product quality in line with industry best practices.
    • Work with the Quality Assurance team to identify and address quality concerns promptly.
    • Monitor and drive improvements in quality metrics.
  5. Project & Maintenance Management:

    • Oversee project management initiatives to meet timelines and cost objectives.
    • Ensure regular plant maintenance to minimize downtime and maximize equipment efficiency.
  6. Team Leadership & Development:

    • Mentor and support General Managers, fostering a culture of accountability and growth.
    • Drive talent development within the operational team, building a robust succession pipeline.
    • Encourage cross-functional collaboration among teams to achieve operational goals.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field. MBA or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience:
    • 10+ years of experience in operations within the garment or fashion manufacturing industry.
    • Proven track record in managing large-scale manufacturing operations and multi-plant oversight.
    • Experience with lean manufacturing and quality management practices.
    • Local experience with exposure to expatriate environments is highly desirable.
  • Skills:
    • Strong leadership and team management skills.
    • Proficiency in Lean principles, project management, and production systems.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Effective communicator with experience in a multicultural environment.
