Industry Screw manufacturer
Salary Negotiable with attractive benefits

Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Engineering & QC Manager to join our newly established screw manufacturing facility. This is a leadership role responsible for overseeing both the engineering and quality control aspects of screw production, ensuring efficiency, quality, and innovation in every step. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical or metallurgical engineering, with extensive experience in fastener manufacturing and a deep understanding of the unique challenges and technologies involved in screw and bolt production.

Responsibilities:
Engineering:

• Lead and manage the mechanical and metallurgical engineering functions specific to screw manufacturing, including screw threads, cold heading, and heat treatment processes.

• Design, develop, and optimize manufacturing processes for screws and fasteners, ensuring alignment with industry standards and customer specifications.

• Create detailed technical drawings for screw designs using AutoCAD or SolidWorks, focusing on dimensional accuracy, thread profiles, and material properties.

• Implement lean manufacturing principles to enhance production efficiency, reduce scrap, and ensure a smooth, cost-effective production flow.

• Troubleshoot and resolve engineering-related production issues, such as defects in thread formation, dimensional inconsistencies, or machine malfunctions.

• Collaborate with the production team to integrate new designs, processes, and technologies that improve screw production efficiency and product quality.

• Conduct regular reviews of critical equipment such as threading machines, cold heading machines, and heat treatment furnaces to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
• Continuously assess and refine screw manufacturing processes, such as threading, tapping, and coating, to meet quality standards and exceed production targets.
Quality Control (QC) Management:
• Oversee and lead the Quality Control department, ensuring all screw products meet or exceed industry standards for performance, reliability, and durability.
• Develop and enforce tailored quality control policies and procedures specific to screw production, covering raw material inspection, in-process quality checks, and final product assessment.
• Lead the creation of a comprehensive quality management system (QMS) that complies with global standards like ISO 9001, ASTM, and other relevant fastener industry regulations.
• Perform regular quality audits and inspections of raw materials (e.g., steel grades, alloys), in-process screw products (thread integrity, coating thickness), and finished products (dimensional checks, tensile strength).
• Manage non-conformance reports (NCRs), investigating root causes and implementing corrective and preventive actions to address any deviations from quality standards.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to screw quality, such as dimensional accuracy, thread quality, corrosion resistance, and mechanical properties, ensuring consistent production of high-quality products.
• Collaborate closely with production teams to address quality-related issues, resolve production bottlenecks, and improve product reliability.
• Maintain detailed records of QC processes, including test results, inspections, and corrective actions, ensuring compliance and traceability for all screw products.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, metallurgical engineering, or a related field.

10+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, with at least 5 years in a QC management role within the screw or fastener manufacturing industry.

• Extensive experience with screw production technologies (e.g., thread rolling, cold heading, heat treatment, coating processes), including knowledge of the challenges associated with each.

• Proven leadership experience in managing QC departments and driving continuous quality improvements in fastener or screw manufacturing environments.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks for designing and optimizing screw manufacturing processes.

• Strong familiarity with industry standards such as ISO 9001, ASTM, and fastener-specific standards for screws and bolts.
• Proficiency in English (spoken and written) is required for communication and reporting.

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of mechanical principles and materials science, with a specialized focus on screws, fasteners, and materials such as steel alloys and stainless steel.

• Exceptional leadership abilities to effectively manage both engineering and QC teams in a fast-paced screw manufacturing environment.

• Ability to implement and lead process improvements, solving complex technical challenges in screw production while minimizing defects and inefficiencies.

• High attention to detail and a commitment to ensuring high-quality manufacturing outputs and consistent screw performance.

• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills to manage workflows, lead teams, and drive productivity.
• A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset, able to identify potential issues early and develop practical solutions before they impact production timelines or product quality.
