Job Description:

Perform safe and efficient operation of the facilities and systems and equipment from outside the control room such as ash conditioners, pneumatic and mechanical conveying system and EP control and EP ash removal systems.

Perform start-up, operation, and shutdown of equipment, systems, and the plant in accordance with approved plant procedures and as directed by the FGD Control Board Operator.

Monitor and record local operating parameters and adjust maintain safe and efficient operation.

Coordinates the operation of the various Ash Handling subsystems using controllers, recorders, indicators, annunciators; troubleshooting equipment problems to enter a work request for repairs; communicates with other plant operation personnel to achieve proper unit operation; directs certain activities of and works with the other Ash Handling Operators, and other operators etc., as required to maintain efficient operation.

Sampling, testing, and interpreting analysis; coordinating activities with other operators, maintenance and certain technical and laboratory personnel for maximum plant safety and economy; maintaining operating logs, taking readings, changing charts, and cleaning equipment.

Observes reports, troubleshoots, and correct situations that are likely to develop into operational problems or safety hazards.

As authorized by the FGD Control Board Operator, perform equipment isolation in accordance with plant lockout/tagout procedures.

Report all maintenance activities to the FGD Control Board Operator.
Requirement:

Graduate of any technical vocational course preferred.

At least 4 years’ experience working in an industrial environment desired. Water treatment experience a plus.

Must have completed all area qualification cards and demonstrated proficiency in all operating areas in the FGD process.

Must be able to work independently with minimum or no supervision.

Beginner level communication skills in the English language (verbal) desired.

Basic computer proficiency.
