Job Purpose
To lead and oversee the implementation, compliance, and ongoing reporting requirements of IFRS 17 across the organization. The role is critical in ensuring alignment between finance, actuarial, IT, and regulatory teams, and in managing the transition to and sustainability of IFRS 17 reporting standards.
Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership:

Develop and lead the IFRS 17 implementation strategy and roadmap.

Act as the subject matter expert (SME) on IFRS 17, providing guidance to executive stakeholders and board committees.
Implementation & Compliance:
Oversee end-to-end project delivery of IFRS 17 implementation.
Ensure all systems, data, and processes are compliant with IFRS 17 requirements.
Manage the technical accounting assessments, policy development, and control processes.
Cross-functional Coordination:
Lead collaboration across Finance, Actuarial, IT, Risk, and Data teams.
Work closely with external auditors, consultants, and regulatory bodies to ensure alignment.
Reporting & Analysis:
Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements under IFRS 17.
Design and oversee controls around measurement models (BBA, PAA, VFA).
Provide insights and analysis to senior leadership on financial impacts and business decisions.
Change Management & Training:
Drive awareness and upskilling programs for internal stakeholders.
Lead change management initiatives to support new reporting frameworks and systems.
Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

Professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CA) is mandatory.

10+ years’ experience in insurance or financial services with deep exposure to IFRS standards.

Proven experience leading IFRS 17 projects (end-to-end implementation or ongoing reporting).

Strong understanding of insurance financials and actuarial concepts.

Project management and stakeholder management experience is critical.
