We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Engineering Manager/Lead to lead our backend engineering team as part of a newly established tech hub in Ho Chi Minh City. This role is ideal for someone with a strong technical background in Java or .NET, proven experience in building and leading teams from scratch, and a passion for mentoring and developing talent within a cross-functional and international environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, manage, and grow a high-performing backend development team focused on delivering scalable and secure systems.
- Build the team from the ground up: hire, onboard, mentor, and develop engineering talent.
- Foster a strong engineering culture of ownership, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Perform system analysis, define technical architecture, and deliver robust, maintainable solutions with clear documentation and best practices.
- Drive technical excellence across the team by setting coding standards, conducting design/code reviews, and ensuring engineering best practices (e.g., CI/CD, automated testing).
- Collaborate closely with other teams in a cross-functional setup.
- Maintain strong communication and alignment with stakeholders, especially across borders with HQ in Taiwan.
Requirements
- Strong backend software development experience, with solid experience in engineering leadership roles.
- Strong coding and architectural background in Java or .NET, and modern backend frameworks.
- Proven track record of building and scaling teams from scratch.
- Experience in mentoring and coaching developers and nurturing a collaborative team culture.
- Solid understanding of software development lifecycle, CI/CD, Agile methodologies.
- Excellent communication skills in English (verbal and written).
- Experience working in multinational environments and across different time zones.
- Strong stakeholder management and the ability to collaborate effectively with Taiwan HQ and global teams.
