We are seeking an experienced Mainframe DevOps Manager to deliver security technology services, including day-to-day operations, strategy, design, development, and maintenance of secure solutions. This role combines technical expertise with leadership, providing guidance to security engineers supporting enterprise mainframe platforms.
The ideal candidate will drive security best practices, ensure compliance with policies and regulations, and contribute to the success of mainframe modernization initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership & Strategy
- Build effective relationships to enable successful implementation of security strategies.
- Define and implement technical security solutions aligned with business needs.
- Provide expert guidance on solution design, ensuring alignment with security policies.
- Evaluate and recommend security tools, techniques, and methodologies.
- Contribute to technical strategies and project planning.
- Support BAU security operations, including incident response and compliance assurance.
- Conduct security control design reviews to ensure adherence to organizational policies.
- Maintain strong knowledge of risk management, controls, and standard operating procedures.
- Identify and remediate security risks in mainframe environments.
- Assist in developing and enforcing IT security policies, standards, and procedures.
- Collaborate with system users to enhance efficiency, integration, and cost-effectiveness.
- Provide technical assurance for key system components in project planning.
- Identify and implement process improvements within the security team.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering skill development.
Must-Have Qualifications
5+ years in Mainframe Engineering or DevOps, with security expertise.
Strong leadership experience, including managing junior staff (graduates/interns).
Technical Proficiency in:
- JCL (Job Control Language)
- SAS (Statistical Analysis System) programming
- ISPF (Interactive System Productivity Facility)
- SDSF (Spool Display Search Facility)
- RACF Security (design reviews, compliance assurance)
Audit, Risk & Controls Background – familiarity with security governance.
Excellent documentation and communication skills.
- 5+ years in Identity & Access Management (IAM) or Cybersecurity.
- Financial services industry experience (advantageous).
- Experience in security incident investigation & resolution.
