Responsibilities:
1. Patient Care:

  • Perform comprehensive assessments and physical exams for patients with musculoskeletal concerns.
  • Gather medical histories and request diagnostic tests (e.g., X-rays, MRIs, CT scans).
  • Diagnose conditions such as fractures, arthritis, joint pain, bone deformities, and sports injuries.
  • Create personalized treatment plans, combining surgery, physical therapy, and medications.
  • Provide non-surgical options like joint injections, medications, and referrals for physical therapy.

2. Surgical Procedures:

  • Carry out a range of orthopedic surgeries, including joint replacements, arthroscopies, fracture repairs, and ligament reconstructions.
  • Utilize advanced surgical techniques to reduce complications and enhance recovery speed.
  • Track patient recovery and adjust treatment plans based on progress.

3. Patient Education and Counseling:

  • Educate patients on their conditions, treatment options, and post-surgical care.
  • Offer guidance on rehabilitation exercises, post-op care, and lifestyle adjustments to aid recovery and prevent further injuries.
  • Discuss the pros and cons of both surgical and non-surgical treatment options.

4. Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with physical therapists, nurses, and other healthcare providers to ensure well-rounded care.
  • Refer patients to specialists, such as rheumatologists or pain management professionals, when necessary.

5. Research and Continuing Education:

  • Keep up-to-date with the latest developments in orthopedic surgery, techniques, and technologies.
  • Participate in clinical research or trials to enhance knowledge and improve patient outcomes.
  • Attend conferences, workshops, and seminars to continue improving skills and knowledge.

6. Administrative Duties:

  • Keep thorough patient records, including medical histories, diagnoses, treatment plans, and progress notes.
  • Participate in meetings, training sessions, and quality assurance activities within the healthcare facility.
Requirements:
  • Worked over the past 12 months in a General Hospital
  • Experienced in Medicine and Orthopedics, with a focus on general trauma of the upper and lower limbs, particularly specializing in lower limb conditions, including knee arthroscopy.
