POSITION TITLE: Power Production Leader
REPORTS TO: Operation Manager
LOCATION: Site Office (Vung Ang Economic Zone, Ha Tinh Province)
DURATION: During O&M Period
PROJECT OVERVIEW
The development, financing, construction, commissioning, ownership, operation, and transfer of the Vung Ang II 2x600 MW (net) imported coal-fired thermal power plant located within the Vung Ang Economic Zone in Ha Tinh Province, Central Vietnam.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Power Production Leader is responsible for directing all operational aspects of the coal fired supercritical power plant. He assists in the selection, training, and management of Operations Department personnel for the reliable, efficient, safe, and environmentally compliant operation of the plant. He fosters a team spirit by coordinating Operations Department activities with other plant departments.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties and responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to the following:
Assists the Operation Manager to Develop, implement and direct the policy, procedures and practices required for the safe, efficient and reliable operation of the power generation systems and equipment.
Oversee plant operations and dispatch in accordance with utility requirements and according to the provisions of the Power Purchase Agreement.
Establishes and implements the training program for the Operation Division.
Ensures that all operations personnel are adhering to safety and environmental regulations and facility policy.
Establish and maintains plant operations data recordkeeping, including operating logs, trend logs, chemistry logs, and reports pertaining to environmental regulations and operations.
Assists the Operation Manager to prepare one-year, three-year, and five-year Operational Plans and budgets, integrating operational activities with the Maintenance Plan.
Prepare periodic reports and perform other duties as assigned by the Operation Manager.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
A Bachelor's Degree (mechanical, electrical or other engineering) is required.
Must have at least 10 years of experience of a thermal power plant industry including the followings.
- Have a thorough knowledge of supercritical coal plant in 5 years of those years.
- At least 3 years of experience in a management position of the thermal power plant industry.
Available to work overtime and/or weekends if required.
Prefer a certificate of completion for training courses on Super critical Coal power plant such as Turbine, Boiler, Generator or Efficiency of power plant.
Prefer a certificate of completion for training courses on Process Control such as PID tuning, the basic principle of instrument sensors (pH, DO and O2 meter) and the basic measuring theory of local instruments.
Possess business level communications skills in English (written and verbal) and be computer literate. Able to communicate/discuss any topic in the business environment.
