Production Manager (Factory Background)

Report to: Vice President of Operations (Japanese Nationality)

Job Summary:
We are a leading company in the plastic manufacturing industry, specializing in the production of high-quality plastic products. Our goal is to provide innovative, sustainable solutions while maintaining the highest standards of quality and efficiency. We are seeking a motivated and experienced Production Manager to join our dynamic team at our Vietnam factory.

The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing the production process in the factory, ensuring the efficient and timely manufacturing of plastic products while maintaining safety, quality, and cost standards. The role involves managing production teams, coordinating with various departments, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity.

Key Responsibilities:
Production Planning & Management:

• Develop and implement production schedules to meet demand forecasts, ensuring on-time delivery.
• Monitor production processes and ensure they run smoothly, adjusting schedules as necessary.
• Collaborate with the supply chain and procurement teams to ensure materials are available as needed.

• Lead and supervise the production team, providing guidance, training, and support to staff.
• Set performance goals and conduct regular performance reviews for production team members.
• Foster a culture of teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement.

Cost Management:

• Manage production costs to ensure production processes are cost-effective.
• Monitor and control waste, material usage, and energy consumption.
• Implement cost-saving initiatives while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

Continuous Improvement:

• Identify and implement process improvements to optimize productivity and reduce downtime.
• Drive lean manufacturing practices to minimize waste and improve operational efficiency.
• Analyze production data to identify trends and implement corrective actions as necessary.

Reporting & Documentation:

• Prepare and maintain production reports, documenting progress, challenges, and improvements.
• Provide regular updates to senior management on production performance and KPIs.
• Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping for all production activities.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field
• Minimum 12 years-experienced in Production and 7 years of experience in Production Management
• Plastic manufacturing industry and/or used to work with Japanese Management will be an advantage
• Strong understanding of production processes, machinery, and quality control systems.
• Experience managing and leading production teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
• Good command of English in written and spoken
• Able to start immediately will be a plus
